*THAT HE MAY SANCTIFY AND CLEANSES HER*
*BIBLE READING: EPHESIANS 5:24-26; 1PETER 3:7*
*That he might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, Ephesians 5:26 (NKJV).*
The calling of husbands is to groom their brides into wives which indeed is a sacred calling that requires time and energy. However, in other for a husband to fulfill this calling, his wife should allow herself to be groomed.
In our key text from Ephesians 5:26, two words stand out; 'sanctify' and 'cleanse.' To sanctify is; "to make holy, set apart as sacred; consecrate; to purify or free from sin." To cleanse is - "to rid of impurities by or as if by washing."
To build a family, a marriage sanctified by religious ceremony is considered sacred, from that moment forward both spouses become sanctified unto each other, that is why adultery is a heinous crime. Adultery is the violation of a scared oath of which both parties made God a witness.
When a man and woman come together in marriage, they both bring into the marriage many toxic and unhealthy characters, attitudes, and habits. In order to have the wife of his dreams, a husband should take his job description as very important to God. For a husband to sanctify and cleanse his wife, he needs a lot knowledge. In 1Peter 3:7, the Apostle commanded husbands to dwell with wives according to knowledge. Irrespective of the numerous seminars, books and conferences on marriage, knowing your wife is a great source of knowledge that can enable you to be proficient in sanctifying and cleansing her.
A Husband should learn to listen to his wife's verbal and non-verbal communication to understand her. He must understand what blesses her and causes her distress. Every husband should arm himself with the knowledge of God's word, and be sensitive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit to fulfill his roles in the marriage institution.
Women are primarily moved by what they hear, therefore, to sanctify and cleanse his wife, the word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit are the major keys a husband needs to groom his wife as he relates with her, communicating with grace (Col.4:6).
Remember that at the marriage ceremony the man is called the GROOM and the woman is called the BRIDE and not a wife. It is now the responsibility of the groom to turn his bride into the wife of his dreams. Husband, your dream wife is yours to create and you should take a cue form the way God created Adam, and formed Eve. God created Adam from the dust of the earth but formed Eve from the rib of the man, so their material composition is different. Adam's material was from raw dust while Eve's was from refined material. Little wonder husbands were charged to dwell with them according knowledge.
Remember that the Lord Jesus is still sanctifying and cleansing His Bride for two thousand plus years now. If you have not obtained the wife of your dreams yet, do not give up.
*PRAYER
Father in heaven, I ask this day that grace, mercy, wisdom, and knowledge be granted me on this journey of marriage in Jesus name, amen.

PSG Thrash Leipzig, Reach Champions League Final
Angel Di Maria scored one and assisted two, while Neymar also starred, as Paris Saint-Germain cruised to a 3-0 victory against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League semifinals. The French champions move on to Sunday’s final against Bayern Munich or Lyon, marking the first time they reached the competition’s championship game.
PSG left it late to claim victory against Atalanta in the previous round, but with Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe recalled to the starting line-up, Thomas Tuchel’s men began in positive fashion against Leipzig. Neymar hit the post after six minutes and had a goal ruled out for handball seconds later, but PSG did not have to wait long to open the scoring.
Neymar was fouled outside the left corner of the penalty area and Di Maria’s subsequent free kick found the head of Marquinhos, whose late equaliser against Atalanta sparked his side’s comeback win, and the midfielder beat goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.
With PSG dominant, Leipzig struggled to create chances of their own in the opening half; Yussuf Poulsen‘s shot into the side-netting after 25 minutes, following a driving run from Konrad Laimer was their best chance.
After Neymar hit the woodwork with a 35-yard free kick that almost caught out Gulacsi at his near post, PSG doubled their lead three minutes before half-time.
Sloppy defensive play saw Leipzig lose possession 30 yards from goal to Leandro Paredes, who swooped on the loose ball, crossed to Neymar and the Brazilian international’s clever flick found Di Maria for a close-range finish.
Any suggestion that Leipzig might get back into the game evaporated 11 minutes into the second half when another defensive lapse cost them. Under pressure from Ander Herrera, Nordi Mukiele slipped and presented possession to Di Maria, whose cross was headed in by Juan Bernat.
U.S. international Tyler Adams came on for Leipzig, emulating DaMarcus Beasley in 2005 as the second American to appear in a Champions League semifinal. Among PSG’s introduced substitutes was Marco Verratti, who missed the game against Atalanta through injury.
“We ate them up from minute one,” said man-of-the-match Di Maria. “It’s going to be tough to sleep between now and the final. We want to make history for the club. We succeeded tonight and we’re in the final; that’s very important. We have to continue like tonight to make our dream come true.”

Just Stop Neymar And Mbappe? Leipzig Forgot About Di Maria!
The importance of the Argentine’s availability was overlooked in Lisbon but he scored one goal and created two others in PSG’s 3-0 win over RB Leipzig
The pressure was again all on Paris Saint-Germain. Only this time they didn’t feel it at all.
When Neymar stepped off the team bus at the Estadio da Luz for Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final with RB Leipzig, his suit jacket was off, the top buttons on his white shirt were open and he was carrying a sound system.
He looked more like DJ rocking up to a club than a footballer preparing for the biggest game in his team’s history.
The message was clear: PSG were here to enjoy the game, not bottle it.
From the very first minute, they played with an intensity and belief that appeared to take their opponents completely by surprise.
In his pre-match press conference, Julian Nageslmann warned his players: “Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are top players. We need to stop them as a team.
“It will be difficult. We have to avoid losing the ball, because PSG are very strong on the counterattack, but we’ll try to take the game by the scruff of the neck.”
They did nothing of the sort. PSG ran right at Leipzig when they had the ball, and then swarmed them when they lost it.
Consequently, it never took the French champions long to recover possession, and they repeatedly did so in dangerous areas.
Even Neymar, a player for so longer questioned over his defensive contribution, hassled and harried at every opportunity.
PSG boss Thomas Tuchel described him beforehand as “a leader”, “a different kind of leader” but a leader nonetheless. The former Barcelona man backed up his coach’s claim.
Like all of his team-mates, Neymar knew that a last-four meeting with Leipzig represented a gilt-edged opportunity for PSG to reach their first-ever final.
To their credit, they never looked like passing it up.
Neymar played a key role: he won the free-kick from which Marquinhos headed home the opener just 13 minutes in before creating the second for Angel Di Maria with a gorgeous back-flick.
However, the latter was the star of the show for PSG.
Much of the build-up had been dominated by Kylian Mbappe’s return to full fitness for the semi-final, having made a game-changing impact off the bench in the dramatic comeback against Atalanta in the quarters.
As it transpired, though, Di Maria’s availability was of greater significance.
With the veteran Argentine back in the starting line-up in place of Pablo Sarabia, PSG looked far more balanced in attack and, consequently, far more threatening.
Mbappe’s pace bailed them out against a tiring Atalanta but such last-gasp heroics weren’t required here. With Di Maria on the right side of the attack, PSG were dominant and decisive from the first whistle.
He racked up two assists either side of his coolly taken goal, first crossing for an unmarked Marquinhos to open the scoring, and then Juan Bernat to kill the game off as a contest midway through the second half.
Leipzig may have been as poor as Nagelsmann’s choice of suit but this was vintage stuff from Di Maria. Literally.
Not since 2013-14, when he played a pivotal role in Real Madrid‘s Champions League win has he been involved in as many goals in a single campaign (eight).
Di Maria, of course, was the Blancos’ best player in the final that year.
PSG may have two superstars in Neymar and Mbappe but, on the evidence of Tuesday night, you wouldn’t bet against their under-rated Argentine accomplice proving just as decisive in Sunday’s decider in Lisbon.

Ebonyi Govt To Convert Abakpa Market To Housing Estate
Following the successful relocation of traders from Abakaliki main market, the Ebonyi state government has unveiled plans to transform the defunct market to a low-cost housing estate with relaxation centre.
The special assistant to the state governor on fruit and vegetable market development, Mr Emmanuel Uzor, who made the disclosure during the demolition of the defunct market said the planned estate would have about 500 housing units, mini vegetable market and relaxation centres.
Uzor, who also supervises the capital city, further disclosed that the proposed relaxation centre was already in the master plan of the state designed to transform the state capital into choice city in the south east and Nigeria.
According to him, with the relocation of the market, the state government would convert all the former commercial buildings to residential homes.”
The defunct Abakpa main market situated at the heart of Abakaliki metropolis, was established 1972. However, following population explosion, the state began the process of relocating the market along the Abakaliki/Ogoja high way under the Martin Elechi administration.
On the crisis that nearly derailed the relocation of traders to the new site, Uzor clarified that the litigations were not about ownership of the structures in the market, but the lease agreements.
“Some of them who went to court that time didn’t go to court because they were dragging the property. They went to court because they felt the ejection was not favourable to them with some arguing that if they had five shops at the defunct Abakpa market, they should be given five shops at the international market. The government said they were not the same thing.”
Uzor continued that “After the enumeration, we will do integrity test of all the privately owned buildings that are around there. What we do is if we check the building and it passes the integrity test, the owner will remodel the building to accord with the master plan.”
On the fate of those who could not afford the shops, Uzor disclosed that the state government was building a big open market where those selling vegetable will stay. “That is where we are selling a square meter N500,000 and it becomes your own for life. No more umbrella, we accommodated everybody including recharge card sellers. That is why we don’t want to have street hawking at the Akanu Ibiam Grand Arena.”

Untold Story Of Enugu Airport Demolition Saga
Two weeks to the expected inauguration of the refurbished Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, Nigerians woke up, penultimate Wednesday, to a report that a section of the newly constructed fence, which is the part of the project, had been pulled down.
Orient Daily reports that the news was greeted with shock and disbelief, especially in the South-East, considering the utility value the people place on the airport.
It could be re-called that the federal government shut down the airport for total repairs nearly one year ago, with an initial promise to reopen it December 2019, a promise that never materialised, even after a second Easter 2020 reopening promise.
The minister of aviation later visited the airport in the peak of the COVID-19 lockdown and apologised for the delay and assured that August 30, 2020 would be it.
Then appeared Arc. John J. Emejulu, a businessman, who, on August 12, 2020, pulled down about three kilometres of the newly constructed perimeter fence of the airport.
It was gathered that, but for the swift intervention of the Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command, NAF, Enugu, Air Vice Marshal Idi Amin, more damage would have been done to the Airport project.
Emejulu told journalists who accompanied him to the demolition exercise that he had a valid court order for his action.
Enquiries, however, showed that none of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, the Federal Government, or the Enugu State Government was joined as parties in the suit that led to the court order in question.
Instead, the parties were Alexander Obaji and Marvellous Kelechi Onah vs Arch J. J Emejulu and Raymond Agbo, in suit No. E/642/2016.
FG to apply big stick:
An enraged minister of aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika did not hide his anger as he vowed to bring Emejulu to book.
Sirika, who stormed the airport early the following day, described the demolition as a total embarrassment to the federal government and expressed deep sadness that the perpetrator could destroy a “national security asset”, at a time the federal government was in the course of delivering the Enugu airport, on August 30, as promised.
He lamented that “while the procurement (of the Enugu airport rehabilitation) was going on, a certain cantankerous individual by name Arc. J. J. Emejulu came with bulldozers and hundreds of armed thugs and destroyed more than two kilometres of our fence”.
The minister said that “he (Emejulu) has given the government the opportunity to show how not to wilfully destroy public asset belonging to over 200 million people”.
While reiterating the commitment of the federal government to the reopening of the Enugu airport on August 30, as earlier promised, Sirika, expressed dismay at the action of Mr. Emejulu.
He added that “This will certainly be the end of this kind of recklessness. We will not forgive him. The chief of air staff, the inspector general of police, the director general, DSS, others, will be directed to do the needful and bring him to book.”
He noted that Gov. Ugwuanyi visited the site of the destroyed fence earlier and was at the airport to meet with him over the matter, stressing that it shows his level of commitment to the realisation of the Enugu airport project.
Emejulu has no court order – Nnaji
Meanwhile, the member representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo in the House of Representatives, Prince Cornelius Nnaji has dared Emejulu to make public the court order he relied on for his action.
Nnaji disclosed that the layout Emejulu is claiming was created and gazetted in 1984 by the Enugu State Government, stressing that a layout cannot be created on top of existing layout after 23 years.
He said, “Emejulu always mentions my name; that I am the person taking over his estate or property as he claimed. I want to state that there has never been a time Emejulu owned a property at that Airport layout.
“The area we are talking about is the Airport Road Extension layout and was owned by the people and was registered in 1984. I don’t know if you can have a layout on top of an existing layout. There is already an existing layout there. I wonder from which layout he is claiming. He mentioned Airport Road Layout Phase 4 and 5, my concern is that we need to see the licence of those who differentiated Airport Road Extension and Airport Road Layout 4 and 5. I want to say categorically that JJ Emejulu doesn’t own a land that place.
“Secondly, the area we are talking about is Airport Road Extension which I know that the government took over for extension of Akanu Ibiam International Airport and by virtue of the Land Use Act, the government owns every land. So, that land in question doesn’t belong to Emejulu that can warrant him going there to destroy government property which all of us condemned in entirety.
“JJ Emejulu doesn’t have any court judgement. If he has a court judgement, he should produce the court judgement. Why is he hiding the judgement? Every court judgement has a surveyor plan and a document attached to it. That has been my question from the beginning.
A proper surveyor plan of the judgement will explain to us which one belongs to him.
“Let him provide the documents and I can provide a counter documents to prove to him that he doesn’t have a land there.”
Emejulu subverted court order – Landlords
Emejulu’s claim of an existing court order has also been debunked by some landlords in the area. They insist he deceived the court into granting the execution order.
The landlords, who have cried out to the federal government, said Emejulu led armed thugs to destroy their property.
They referred to the court action in question as being “mischievously and surreptitiously obtained in 2020 against a subsisting restraining order made in 2017 for stay of execution of the judgment of suit No. E/642/2016”.
Speaking on behalf of the landlords in the neighbourhood, Basil Madueke, whose duplex was destroyed, said it was the third time the perpetrator came with armed thugs to demolish their property.
Madueke who led the newsmen round the affected structures, stressed that Emejulu’s level of intimidation and brutality was unbearable.
His words: “This is the third time Mr. J. J Emejulu is destroying my property. And I have all the evidence, both pictures and video, to back my claims. So, I call upon the federal government to take immediate action because I demand that this very man should pay for the damage he has caused me and other affected landlords.”
