Don Jazzy has repeatedly joked about having a crush on the ‘Umbrella’ singer.

He shared a photoshopped picture of himself lying on Rihanna in April.

ICPC Uncovers ₦450 Million Hidden In Bank Account By Court Officials

xThe Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on Monday said it had seized $919,202.07 (about N450 million) hidden in a bank account by some court officials.

It said the cash was kept in an interest-yielding account by some officials of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, in 2014.

A statement by the commission’s spokesperson, Mrs. Azuka C. Ogugua, said: “Acting on a petition instituted against some officials of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt for alleged corrupt practices, the ICPC has obtained an Interim Forfeiture Order on $919,202.07 (approximately N450 million) fraudulently hidden in a bank account.

“Investigators in the Rivers State office of the commission traced the money that had been hidden in an interest-yielding account by officials of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt since 2014.

“On discovery of the hidden money, the ICPC, through its lawyer, Dr. Agada Akogwu, filed an ex parte motion for an Interim Order of Forfeiture of the money.

“In his ruling, Justice Mohammed Sani of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, granted the commission’s prayers for interim forfeiture of the said sum, pending the final hearing on the matter.

“The judge further ruled that the ‘orders of the court directing the interim forfeiture shall be published in any daily newspaper within 14 working days for any person interested in the said property sought to be forfeited to appear before the court to show cause why the final forfeiture orders be not made in favour of the Federal Government of Nigeria’.

“The matter was adjourned till December 14, 2020 for reports and final forfeiture hearing.”

Insecurity: It's Unconstitutional For PMB To Ignore Reps Summon - Adegboruwa

Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), Lagos-based human rights lawyer has said President Muhammadu Buhari must honour the invitation of the House of Representatives to explain what he is doing about the security situation in the country, saying it will be unconstitutional for him to ignore it.

He said Nigerians can no longer leave the issue of insecurity which has collapsed in the hands of the President alone.

Angered by the worsening insecurity in the country, the House of Representatives on Tuedsay summoned the President over the cold-blooded murder of about 43 persons by suspected Boko Haram Islamists insurgency group in Zabarmari village, Jere council of Borno State.

Adopting a motion under urgent matters of national importance sponsored by Satomi Ahmed at the plenary presided by Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, the lawmakers insist that President Buhari be made to brief them on the true state of the security of the Nation.

According to Adegboruwa, it is time for Nigerians to get involved in the issue of security in the country through elected representatives.

“The President should Honour the invitation of the House of Representatives in order to explain to the nation what he is doing about the collapsed security of Nigeria. The situation has gotten out of hand such that we can no longer leave the matter with the President again”.

“Security is everybody’s business so we must all get involved through our elected representatives.

It will be unconstitutional for the President to ignore the invitation of the House as that will send a wrong signal of lack of empathy for the killings going on across the land”.

Okocha Reveals Players Rohr Needs To Succeed With Super Eagles

Former Nigeria captain, Jay-Jay Okocha, has said the national team needs natural offensive midfielders to succeed.

The three-time African champions have not found an attacking midfielder in the mould of Okocha, since the 47-year-old retired in 2006.

The Super Eagles have used John Obi Mikel, Joel Obi, Alex Iwobi and recently Joe Aribo in the position, but they struggled to live up to expectations.

Okocha, who won 73 caps for Nigeria, has advised head coach Gernot Rohr, on how Nigeria can enjoy better performances in their subsequent games.

“What the Eagles need now are natural midfielders who can create chances and change the course of a game,” Okocha told Brila FM.

“We need midfielders who can run at defenders and a pick their teammates with good passes.

“We have good midfielders but not in at that level at the moment. Some of them are just scared and the fact that they are being compared to the 1994 Eagles brings a bit of pressure on them.”

Police Recruitment: 925 Names Smuggled Into Constable List - PSC

A total of 925 persons who did not undergo any of recruitment processes for 10,000 Constables were smuggled into the list last year, the Police Service Commission (PSC) revealed Tuesday.

It said the 925 persons neither applied for the job nor went through screening, aptitude test and medical examinations.

The PSC said this Tuesday while refuting allegations it was withholding the payment for some Police Constables recruited last year.

According to a statement signed by spokesman for the commission, Ikechukwu Ani, all Constables properly recruited have been screened, appointment letters released capturing into the Integrated Pay-Roll and Personnel Information System, (IPPIS) for the payment of their salaries and allowances approved.

“The Commission wishes to clarify that it had to bend backwards to accommodate the list of these candidates even after the Court of Appeal gave judgment in favour of the Commission nullifying the hijack of the recruitment exercise by the Nigeria Police Force.

“The Appeal Court judgment which is still subsisting had declared the exercise null and void and returned the Constitutional Powers of the commission to recruit all persons into the Nigeria Police Force.

“It is also necessary to clarify that in the cause of screening of the list of the 10,000 successful candidates, the commission discovered that 925 persons never applied for recruitment and did not go through the stages and processes of recruitment. These included screening, aptitude test and medical examinations.

“The commission however in the overall interest of the nation and considering that resources had been expended in the training of these candidates and that these candidates had been exposed to weapon and weaponry decided to rescreen them.

“These candidates already rescreened, except those found to be criminally minded (with mutilated certificates) are expected to be absorbed into the Force.

“The commission is expected to approve their recruitment at its next Plenary Meeting holding next week after which they will receive letters of appointment and subsequently captured by IPPIS,” he said.
