*OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION*
*BIBLE READING: ECCLESIASTES 3:1-12*
*“He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap. As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.” Ecclesiastes 11:4-5 (NKJV).*
Procrastination is one of the greatest barriers people face in achieving their dreams in life, destiny, careers or ministry. The subtlety of procrastination is that while you put off things you ought to do today, time is not static or waiting for you. Procrastination is a fierce enemy that one has to overcome in order to live an enviable life and fulfill your God-given assignment. It is a subtle robber of opportunities and destiny. Anything that makes you waste time, will eventually waste your destiny and life.
Procrastination can make someone do good things, but not the right things. It is a force that prevents you from following through on what you set out to do. It often involves ignoring an unpleasant, but likely more important task, in favor of one more enjoyable or easier task. As you procrastinate, over time, you will become demotivated with your work and you will start doing poor quality jobs.
Procrastination can restrict your potential and undermine your career. It can disrupt teamwork and reduce morale. In Ecclesiastes 11:4-5, Solomon the son of David told us that there is no perfect time and conditions to start any project. If you wait for the conditions to be perfect you will never do anything of worth and value. Procrastination increases anxiety and stress. Don't always wait for tomorrow. Get started, take an immediate action and you will get things done, lowering anxiety and stress. Action is the vehicle that delivers vision, destiny and dreams.
Overcoming procrastination helps you to gain higher self-discipline. One of the reasons we procrastinte is low self discipline. Proverbs 22:29, when you beat procrastination, you increase your level of self-discipline. People who do not procrastinte accomplish better quality work. When you work with less stress, anxiety and higher self-discipline, you give yourself the chance to do better work. Overcoming procrastination is the foundation for great achievements in life, ministry or any other project.
Delaying important things is a destructive habit. Be brutal with yourself if you are prone to procrastinating and develop self discipline.
*PRAYER
Father, I submit myself under the discipline of the Holy Spirit and under the instructions of my mentors for accountability. I break off my life from the spirit of delay and procrastination in Jesus name, amen.
