Akufo-Addo Elected As New ECOWAS Chairman
Nana Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West Africa States at the ongoing 57th ECOWAS Summit in Niamey, Republic of Niger.

Daddy Freeze has finally responded to the viral-video which insinuated that he insulted Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of the Living Faith Church (a.k.a Winners Chapel).
The On-Air Personality and leader of the Free Nation in Christ, in an about 10 minutes video posted on his Youtube channel on Monday, September 7, noted that he never insulted the renowned clergy as insinuated by Pastor David Ibiyeomie, the General Overseer of Salvation Ministries with headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Naija News understands that Pastor Ibiyeomie is a spiritual son to Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith.
Speaking on the alleged critics and insult, Freeze recalled that even Jesus Christ, Paul, Peter and even the Pharisees were during their time criticised.
The OAP said he finds it devastating that Pastor Ibeyeomie could even go to the extent of dragging the Somalians into his arguments.
Freeze called the attention of Nigerians and authorities over the ‘death’ threat on him by Pastor David Ibiyomie. He further noted that he was proud of his profession as a broadcaster which the clergy condemned on his pulpit.
Maybe broadcasters should start collecting tithes and offering too,” Freeze questioned Ibiyomie.
He noted further that the clergy’s statement is derogatory and symbolizes hate speech.
Freeze asked Pastor Ibiyeomie if he had in his statement showed the likeness of Christ as a clergy.

Erica Nlewedim has granted her first interview after she was disqualified from the Big Brother Naija reality show, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV reports that the young actress was disqualified from the show on Sunday, August 6, for being disrespectful towards her fellow housemates and for breaking the rules of the house.
On Monday, August 7, during her first interview, Erica said she has apologized to her fellow housemates. She also apologized to members of the public for her outbursts.
She said she doesn't hate Laycon and didn't mean the hurtful things she said.
She added that she's happy to be out of the house.
She said: "I have apologized to the housemates before leaving the house and I will like to apologize to everybody who watches the show, all my supporters, fans, my family, my friends, I am very sorry for my actions and I'm very very sorry for saying those horrible words to Laycon.
"Laycon, I do not hate you. We have our disagreements but, I don't hate you.
"And to everybody I insulted: Prince, Dora, all the different people I insulted, I'm very very sorry.
"It's the day after disqualification, I feel relieved. I'm happy to be outside, I'm happy to see my loved ones and my supporters. I really needed that, so, I'm very happy to be out of the house.”

Messi Finally Returns To Training After Confirming He'll Stay At Barcelona
Barcelona's all-time top scorer Lionel Messi has returned to training following his failed attempt to force a move away from the club.
Messi, 33, submitted a transfer request on 25 August but said last Friday he would stay because it is "impossible" for any team to pay his release clause.
It is the first time the Argentine has trained at the club since the arrival of new manager Ronald Koeman.
Barcelona begin their La Liga campaign against Villarreal on 27 September.
Messi trained on his own, as did Philippe Coutinho, while the rest of the squad trained together.
Messi failed to attend the club's testing for Covid-19 on 30 August and has been absent from training since sending a fax informing the club of his wish to exercise a clause in his contract which he believed would allow him to leave for free with immediate effect.
Both Barcelona and La Liga insisted that clause was no longer valid - with any club wishing to buy him required to pay a release clause of 700m euros (£624m).
La Liga president Javier Tebas said at the launch of the 2020-21 La Liga season on Monday he was "never seriously worried" Messi would leave Barcelona this summer.
"We want Messi to be with us. He is the best player in the history of football and we want him to end his career in La Liga," said Tebas.
"He has been with us for 20 years and we are so pleased he is staying with us and not going to another league."
