Strike: FG, ASUU Meeting Ends In Deadlock Again!

We can’t afford N110bn revitalisation fund—Ngige.

ABUJA- THE meeting between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, over the poor funding of Universities and the controversy surrounding the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS, payment platform, yesterday ended without any resolution.

This is as the Federal Government at the meeting which held at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Abuja, said it cannot afford the N110 billion demanded by the ASUU for funding of revitalisation of universities.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige told journalists that the government cannot meet the demand of ASUU of revitalisation because of the damaging effects of COVID-19 on the economy.

Senator Ngige disclosed that the Federal Government has offered the union N20 billion for revitalisation and N30 billion for Earned Academic Allowances, making it N50 billion all together.

The minister said the government side made all these offers to show its commitment towards the resolution of the prolonged strike of the union.

According to him, “There are three issues. revitalization fund where government offered ASUU N20 billion as a sign of good faith based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) they entered into in 2013 as a result of the renegotiation they had with government in 2009. This present government is still committed to it. That is why we are giving them offers of some fund,” Ngige said.

“This government is not against revitalization but this government says that because of dire economic situation and COVID-19, we cannot really pay the N110 billion which they are demanding for revitalization.

“We offered N20 billion as revitalization fund. On Earned Academic Allowances (EAA), the government offered N30 billion to all the unions in the universities, making it N50 billion all together.

“ASUU is saying that the N30 billion should be for lecturers alone, irrespective of the fact that there are three other unions. So there is a little problem there. We don’t have any money to offer apart from this N30 billion.

“Again, another cardinal issue is the University Transperancy and Accountability Solution (UTAS) versus IPPIS. Today ASUU submitted their document on UTAS for onward submission to National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). As you know last week, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy had approved that NITDA gets their system (UTAS) and subject it to integrity test. This test should be conducted without fear or favour and as early as possible. So today they have submitted the document for onward transmission to NITDA.”

Ngige said the transition period and how to disburse the Earned Academic Allowances and other entitlements remained unresolved as ASUU wanted an exemption from IPPIS whereas the government side headed by the Accountant General of the Federation insisted on IPPIS, being the only government approved payment platform.

He said, “So that is where were are for now. So we are all going back to our principals and they will receive via me the irreducible minimum of what federal government has to offer.

The government side will meet on Friday and after that they will communicate ASUU and in communicating them, if there is a need for a meeting, a date will be fixed for it.

I've Been Silent For 10 Years” — Prince Eke Knocks Ex Wife Muma Gee Over Interview

Nollywood actor Prince Eke on Wednesday knocked his estranged wife and singer Muma Gee over her recent interview, Igbere TV reports.

In an Instagram post, the father of three, apparently addressing Muma Gee, said she was painting him black to promote her soon-to-be-released single after a long break.

Prince wrote, “I gave you my hard-earned money to push your career, and you turned around, used my money to pay journalists for interviews and you are taking a swipe on me for publicity stunt?”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CH....K-pr1n1dx/?igshid=qk

He claimed to have lent her money two weeks ago to push her project.

Igbere TV reports that Muma Gee had told The Sun in an interview published on November 1 that her ex-husband ended the marriage suddenly.

She said: “I was so shocked I called it the eighth wonder of the world. I never dreamed or imagined a situation where I, who has been so committed, was being treated so shabbily.

“And the most devastating part of it was to have built a career for years which I put on hold just to kick-start something, and this person wakes up one day and says look ‘I can’t go on with this.’”

Prince had in another Instagram post on Monday said he had moved on and that the singer should do so too.

The duo’s marriage produced three children – a boy and two girls.

2020 US election: 'Angels Have Been Dispatched From Africa': Trump's Spiritual Advisor Leads Bizarre Prayer Service for Win.

A video of presidential spiritual advisor Paula White leading an impassioned prayer service in an effort to secure Trump's reelection, went viral.

The US Presidential Elections is still underway, even after over 24 hours of counting votes.

At the time of writing this article, Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden is in the lead.

Biden has expressed confidence that he will win the election and has enough states in the bag to reach the magic number of 270 electoral votes. His statement came as he was projected to win the critical battleground states of Michigan and Wisconsin, taking his tally to 253. He also holds narrow leads in swing states of Nevada and Arizona, while President Donald Trump leads in Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina.

Bringing out all guns, Trump's campaign team is suing states for "still counting votes." And they're also trying to play the hand of God.

A video of presidential spiritual advisor Paula White leading an impassioned prayer service in an effort to secure Trump's reelection, went viral.

In the video, White can be heard saying, "I hear a sound of victory. The Lord says it is done. For I hear, victory, victory, victory!" She added that "Angels are being dispatched right now." And then it got a little bizarre. "Angels have been dispatched from Africa right now. They're coming here, in the name of Jesus." She continues her chant in Latin, and repeats "I hear the sound of victory" several times in the video.

She also may have called the Democrats "demonic confederacies."

Will it work? Maybe Trump has a better chance legally.

The Trump campaign is filing a lawsuit to stop vote counting in Georgia, a campaign official said. It is unclear whether the suit will be successful. "President Trump and his team are fighting for the good of the nation to uphold the rule of law, and Georgia’s law is very clear: to legally count, mail ballots must be received by 70 p.m. on Election Day. That’s still the law, even after Democrats sued earlier this year to extend the deadline and delay Election Day—President Trump and Republicans fought to uphold Georgia law, and we won," Trump Deputy Campaign Manager Justin Clark said in a statement.

Clark went on to say that "a Republican poll observer in Georgia witnessed 53 late absentee ballots illegally added to a stack of on-time absentee ballots in Chatham County. We will not allow Democrat election officials to steal this election from President Trump with late, illegal ballots. President Trump and the Georgia Republican Party have filed suit to require all Georgia counties to separate any and all late-arriving ballots from all legally cast ballots to ensure a free, fair election in which only legal, valid ballots count."

Donald Trump's Fan Storms Press Conference To Accuse Joe Biden Of Stealing

'Give us freedom': Wild moment Trump fan in 'BBQ, beer, freedom' shirt hijacks press conference to slam the 'Biden crime family'

Watch The Video Below;

*Voter registrar Joe Gloria's press conference was interrupted Wednesday
*The Nevada official was speaking in Las Vegas to update the state's counting
*A furious man in a 'BBQ, beer, freedom' t-shirt yelled at the gathered reporters
*He accused the 'Biden crime family' of 'stealing the election'
*Nevada is being keenly watched with the election hanging in the balance

Election officials in Nevada were updating reporters on their progress counting votes when a wild-eyed man in a 'BBQ, beer, freedom' t-shirt interrupted them to rant about Joe Biden.

Joe Gloria, the Clark County registrar of voters, was answering a question about how many ballots were left to count in the county, which includes Las Vegas.

'As I mentioned, we are not prepared to give that information out,' he said, before being interrupted.

'The Biden crime family is stealing the election!' he yelled.

'The media is covering it up. We won our freedom for the world. Give us our freedom Joe Biden!

'Joe Biden is covering up this election! He's stealing it!'

A man in a 'BBQ, beer, freedom' t-shirt interrupted Joe Gloria's election update Wednesday

Gloria paused as the man ranted that Biden was 'stealing' the election from the people

The man then turned and walked off, leaving Gloria to resume his press conference

He then turns and walks off.

'Where were we?' one of the reporters asks.

No Republican presidential candidate has carried Nevada since 2004, and initial results showed Biden in the lead, but it hangs in the balance.

Trump fell just shy of winning Nevada and its six electoral college votes four years ago, and this year he campaigned hard in the state hoping for better luck.

JUST ANOTHER COMMON SENSE LECTURE.

Give N50,000 to a secondary school dropout and watch him buy a stove, a frying pan, cooking oil and other things to start Indomie business.

In just three years, the young man will have a wife, a plot of land worth N1million, a Tokunbo car, a TV, sofa, bed, etc in his one-bedroom house.

Give N1m to most university graduates and watch them buy Samsung Galaxy phones and several pairs of skinny jeans, take their numerous girlfriends out, take selfies and post them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

In less than two years, they will be buying Indomie on credit from the secondary school dropout and paying rent or staying in their parents' house.

The question is:
DOES EDUCATION BREED WASTE, ARROGANCE, GULLIBILITY AND STUPIDITY?

Education does not necessarily breed any of the above, but it makes you look down on possibilities as "not befitting my status".

Unemployment is actually higher amongst the educated than amongst the uneducated.

The uneducated are more innovative and ready to do what the educated will refer to as "dirty, menial jobs".

And before you know it, the uneducated guy will be needing an Accountant to manage his finance books and will now employ the educated guy!

That is the reality of our society!
My counsel...Work as if you have no certificate, remain humble.
