#USElection: Pompeo Promises ‘Smooth Transition To Trump’s Second Term’

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday promised the world a “smooth transition” after US elections but refused to recognize President-elect Joe Biden’s victory, saying Donald Trump will remain in power.

“There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration,” Pompeo said in an at times testy news conference when asked about contacts with the Biden team.

“The world should have every confidence that the transition necessary to make sure that the State Department is functional today… with the president who is in office on January 20 a minute after noon will be successful,” he said, referring to the date of the presidential inauguration.

World leaders including almost all US allies have congratulated Biden, who has achieved unassailable leads in key states as well as a commanding edge in the nationwide popular vote.

But Trump has refused to concede the November 3 election and has alleged massive fraud, calling for recounts and legal action.

Asked if the United States can still issue statements calling for free elections around the world, Pompeo said the question was “ridiculous.”

“This department cares deeply to make sure that elections around the world are safe and secure and free and fair, and my officers risk their lives to ensure that that happens,” he said.

Joseph Arikpo: Policemen Beat Lawyer In Cross River (Graphic Photo)

A lawyer, Joseph Arikpo has accused a DPO and his officers in Cross River State of brutalising him when he went to solicit the bail of a young man who had been in detention for over six days, IgbereTV reports.

According to the Calabar based lawyer, the incident happened at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ikom, on Sunday, November 8.

Narrating his ordeal on Tuesday morning, November 10, Arikpo said trouble started when the DPO called him a stupid man.

Arikpo claimed that when he asked not to be insulted, the DPO 'punched him repeatedly and afterwards threw him into cell where he was further assaulted by some officers.'

Read his post below:

"Will this POLICE BRUTALITY EVER END?
On the 8th on November 2020, I was consulted by my client to solicit the bail of a young man who had been detention at the Divisional Police Headquarters Ikom Cross River State for over six days for no just course. In adherence to the cap rank rule, I went there, met with the DPO Ikom, introduced myself and told him that I was there to solicit for the bail of my Client who had been in detention for over Six days.

The DPO told me that he was not going to release him, because according to him, he intends to arrange for a meeting between the complainant and the accused on Wednesday 11/11/2020. But I told him that he should release him for me, and that I was going to provide the suspect on the day fixed for interview, but the DPO refused.

When I tried to remind the said DPO that my client still had his Constitutional right of freedom to liberty and dignity of his human person, he(the DPO) told me that I was stupid. In my response, I told him that I am not stupid, and took exception to that insult on my person. The DPO came closer and closer and eventually started punching me. He did it repeatedly while repeating the words "I say you are STUPID" When he came very close, I could perceive some smell of alcohol.

So, I saw the need to run. When I tried to run out of the Station, he commanded a female police officer that was nearby to close the gate, and ordered another female police to "bring him some chemical mess" (tear gas) which he used on me to the cell for detention. After taking me into the cell, he assigned an IPO, to record my statement. During the period of recoding my statement, they handcuffed me and used barton and whips to bater me, just to make sure that I wrote what they wanted as my statement.

At night while I was in the cell, the DPO sent a female police officer to come and seize my blood stained shirt so as to conceal the evidence that I was brutalized, but God help me, as I had hidden same before they came. Thank God for the NBA IKOM Chapter that came to my rescue!"

Mike Tyson Admit He Used A Fake Penis Called The 'Whizzinator' To Pass Drug Test

Mike Tyson has spoken openly about his addiction to recreational drugs during his fighting career, which led to him using a prosthetic penis in order to pass anti-doping tests

Mike Tyson has revealed he passed drug tests during his fighting career by using a fake penis called a “Whizzinator” - which contained clean urine from his wife or baby.

Tyson was subjected to stringent drug testing in his heyday, although anti-doping agencies have become much more attentive since his retirement in 2005.

Throughout his career, ‘Iron’ Mike dabbled in his fair share of recreational drugs - specifically cannabis - which he has spoken openly about in recent years.

And the former undisputed heavyweight champion went to great lengths to avoid getting caught before a fight.

When asked to provide urine samples, he would wear a prosthetic penis called a “Whizzinator” to in order to hand over a clean specimen.

The Whizzinator would be filled with urine from either his wife or baby, which allowed him to pass the test without issue before competing in the ring.
“I put my baby's urine in it,” Tyson said on the Hotbox' with Mike Tyson podcast.

“And sometimes, one time I was using my wife's and my wife was like: 'Baby, you better not hope that it comes back pregnant or something.'

“And I said, 'Nah, we ain't gonna use you any more, we're gonna use the kid.' Cuz I got scared that the p*** might come back pregnant.

“That was what I was afraid of! I guess I heard of this happening because I was afraid of that.”

Tyson is set to make a sensational return to boxing later this month in a controversial exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr.

The legendary pair, both in their 50s, will go head-to-head in eight two-minute rounds at the Staples Centre, Los Angeles.

“I feel magnificent. I've been training, someone gave me a proposition to fight,” Tyson said during their pre-fight press conference last month,

“It went from Shannon Briggs to someone else and now I’m fighting Roy.”

Dangote Reacts To Criticisms On Border Closure Exemption, Hammers Bloomberg

Previous thread:https://yusocial.com/post/5625...._fg-exempts-dangote-

The Dangote group has reacted to a recent report published on Bloomberg that their cement company was solely exempted from the Land Border Closure by the Nigerian government.

The report revealed that Dangote Cement was still able to export products despite the land border closure put in place by the Federal Government thus gaining an ‘unfair’ advantage.

Responding to the development in a statement sent to POLITICS NIGERIA, signed by Timilehin Oyedare, the cement giant disclosed that the report was ‘misleading’.

“Contrary to reports by Bloomberg that Dangote Cement was granted sole approval to export cement through the land borders, information has emerged that other companies also got approval to export through the land borders. Nigerian Customs Service has reportedly revealed that a gas company have also received presidential approval to move goods across the land borders.”

“Joseph Attah, the spokesperson for Nigerian Customs Service, was said to have clarified on phone from Lagos.”

“Dangote Cement and other companies in July, 2020 got partial special dispensation to export their products with certain sequence of crossing at Ilela land border in Sokoto State and Ohumbe land border in Ogun State, the company clarified.”

The Group Chief, Branding and Communications, Dangote Group, Mr. Anthony Chiejina, said the report is misleading and mischievous because it focused only on Dangote Cement as the sole beneficiary of the partial special dispensation.
