THE GLORY SHALL BE A COVERING
BIBLE READING: PSALM 91:9-12
Then the Lord will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a covering. And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain. Isaiah 4:5-6
After God's great deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt, they were on their way to the promised land when Pharaoh had a rethink and chased them to the shores of the red sea. But the scriptures say that Moses stretched his hand over the sea and parted it and the children of Israel began to cross.
Imagine three million people crossing the sea with their animals, their children and even the old and pregnant women among them; they must have been very slow. However, God gave them a sure protection; a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. It was a covering and protection like no other. The Egyptians could not come near them. And under the covering of that Glory, they marched through the red sea to safety and God defeated their enemies in the sea.
God has said that in these last days, He has released His Glory once again, as a covering, a protection against the forces of darkness that come against us. No matter how the enemy rages, no matter what you see around you, you are untouchable because upon all, the Glory shall be a covering. Hallelujah.
So as the year ends and the devil rampages, with your mouth appropriate the covering of the Glory over yourself, your family and all that concerns you. As the Glory covers and protects you, it destroys the work of the enemy and throws them into confusion, smiting them down. Hallelujah.
ACTION POINT:
Thank God for His Glory which protected and preserved you till date. Now use your mouth to bring yourself, loved ones and everything that you have under the Glory of God and you shall see no loss because upon all the Glory shall be a covering.

TURN YOUR LIFE AROUND
BIBLE READING: JAMES 1:12-15
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” Hebrews 12:1 KJV
An addiction is defined as ‘a habit or practice that damages, jeopardizes or shortens one’s life but when ceased causes trauma.’ It is also defined as ‘a pathological relationship to mood altering experiences that has life damaging consequences.’ Usually addictions begin as a search for something that makes you feel better, either as a result of an unpleasant experience or just to escape the realities of the harshness of life. No matter how they begin, they soon become desires that we are unable to control. It no longer is about escaping the pain or harsh reality, instead it becomes all about that temporary feeling of being high and free. But like James 1:14 & 15 say, when we are drawn away by our lusts, it leads to sin and then to death.
Addictions are a sin that eventually lead to death and till you begin to see it that way, you will never be free from it. Whether it is drugs, alcohol, sex, food, or whatever it is, it will shorten your life. What are the bad habits, sins and addictions that held us bound this year? As we prepare to enter into the new year, let us take responsibility and admit that there is a challenge and seek to root them out of our lives.
The first step to freedom is recognizing it for what it is, and then desiring with everything inside of you to get rid of it. By the power of the Holy Spirit, its hold over your life can be broken permanently. Next you need to talk to someone who has spiritual authority over you whom you trust, to pray with you and break the power of that addiction over your life, and then make sure you stay accountable to them as they help you set boundaries that will help you not to have a relapse, and you will be totally free in Jesus’ name. Let us enter the new year in freedom from sin, weaknesses and addictions.
ACTION POINT:
If you have any problem with any addiction, make a commitment to stop it and talk to your pastor or spiritual leadership about it today, and you have taken the first step to total freedom.

THE DAY OF GIFTS
BIBLE READING: 2ND COR. 9:6-8
And when David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts. Then he distributed among all the people, among the whole multitude of Israel, both the women and the men, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed, everyone to his house. II Samuel 6:18-19
Traditionally, boxing day was the day gifts were given and unwrapped. It was the day after Christmas that the Kings and nobles would give gifts to all the servants in the castle and extend it to all the people around. It was a day of giving.
Today however, the essence of the Boxing Day is lost. But it doesn't have to be. Remember, it is more blessed to give than to receive. Don't wait until you have excess before you can give. Learn to give from the little you have because giving starts from the heart before the actual parting of the gift.
Remember to give cheerfully because God loves a cheerful giver. Whilst you give, do not publish it if you want to receive a reward from God. As the recipients needs are met, they thank God who in turn bless you in accordance to His riches in Glory. When we give to the poor, we lend same unto the Lord.
Do not be a resouvoir but a viable channel of blessings. Let men bless the name of the Lord for your alms and same will rise unto the Lord soon as a memorial. Remember, givers never lack.
ACTION POINT:
As we celebrate the gift of Jesus Christ, go out of your way, and find some people around you, who don't have as much as you do, and give them a gift. As they unwrap the box, you will see their smiles unwrapped as they say, thank you. Put a smile on someone's face today.
