*DOMINION MANDATE DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2020

*ISRAEL GOD'S TIMEPIECE*

*BIBLE READING: EXODUS 4:22-23; DEUTRONOMY 4: 4-8; MATTHEW 25:37-46*

*"Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is nigh. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near- at the doors!" MATTHEW 24:32-33(NKJV).*

God in His infinite wisdom chose Israel to be His firstborn nation irrespective of what we think. He chose them to use them to model His desire and intention of making the earth an extension of heaven after the Eden project failed in the hands of Adam and Eve.

In Deutronomy 4:4-8, He gave them laws, statutes, commandments, and judgements that would distinguish them from other nations on earth and their gods. These laws are to be a template for other nations to model for their national life. Remember that Israel is His firstborn not His only son. Nations that have used these laws given to Israel, have built equitable and prosperous societies.

In Matthew 24:32-33, Jesus referered to Israel as a fig tree, and told His primary audience to watch out for its rebudding, that when it does, it is a sign to mark the end of the age. The fig tree came alive on the fourteenth day of May 1948 after almost two thousand years of dispersion, and has blossomed into a politically, economically, and technologically advanced nation. Also, a wave of anti-Semitism is growing astronomically again even among church folks.

Israel is not only God's timepiece for the end of the age, she is also a standard for judgement for all nations. In Mathew 25:37-46, Jesus painted a graphic picture of the judgement of nations, He said that nations will be judged based on their relationship with Israel. What they did to Israel during her dark moments in history. Earlier prophets like Joel painted the same picture in Joel 3:1-3. God called the land of Israel His land, and defends her till date.

You can argue and join the United Nations to fight against Israel, but know for sure that nations will be punished or rewarded on how they respond to Israel. Jesus called them sheep and goat nations. The choice is ours to make. President Donald J. Trump recognised Jerusalem as Israel's capital, the nations went berserk, recently, he brokered what is now known as the ''Abraham Accord'' between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, and many other nations are following suit. Could that not be the prophetic timepiece ticking?

*ACTION POINT
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper that love her. Pray always for Israel, her enemies are gathering like never before.

*PRAYERS
Lord, cause me to align my heart to the nation of Israel and love her, especially the city of Jerusalem, like David, I will not forget her in Jesus name amen.

'She Hugged Me & I Lost My Sense’ - Grandpa Rapes 12-Year-Old Girl In Lagos

67-year-old man arrested for defiling 12-year-old girl

Police operatives have arrested 67-year-old James Olajoyetan for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl who came to spend the recently marked Sallah with her visually impaired grandfather in Ejigbo area of Lagos State.

The suspect, a commercial tricycle operator, was alleged to have defiled the girl four times since she came visiting. It was gathered that one of the occasions was in her grandfather’s one-room apartment. He was alleged to have gagged her mouth to prevent her from shouting in order not to alert her blind grandfather.

However, at the weekend, Olajoyetan, a widower, was said to have called the girl, pretending to send her on an errand. Explaining her ordeal, the victim said: “When I went, I stood in front of his door. He told me to come inside to collect the money. When I did, he shut the door and raped me. While he was doing it, I wanted to shout but he hit me several times and covered my mouth.”

A neighbour said to be returning from a journey was alerted by the girl’s cry. Out of curiosity, he peeped through the window, forced the door open, and caught Olajoyetan in the act. He raised the alarm that alerted residents who rushed to the apartment and handed the suspect to the police at Ejigbo division.

During interrogation, the suspect claimed he was under a spell. He said: “I had a disagreement with a pastor in Christ Apostolic Church, Kajola. He accused me of being instrumental to his leaving the church. Six months ago, he boasted that he would place a spiritual load on my head and ensure I was publicly disgraced.

“Since then, I didn’t know what came over me. They claimed I raped the girl four times, but it was only once. My wife died in 2005. I have six children, the first is 35 years old while the last is 17 years. I am still shocked that I could lay with a child that is much younger than my last child. When she came in, I gave her N100 and she hugged me. At that point, I lost my sense of judgement.”
