*THE HOLY SPIRIT AS OUR GUARANTEE*

*BIBLE READING: 2 TIMOTHY 2:19*

*In Him, you also, when you heard the word of truth, the good news of your salvation, and [as a result] believed in Him, were stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit [the One promised by Christ] as owned and protected [by God]. The Spirit is the guarantee [the first installment, the pledge, a foretaste] of our inheritance until the redemption of God’s own [purchased] possession [His believers], to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:13-14(AMP).*

Everyone wants to protect what he owns. Every manufacturer wants the world to know that his product is safe and reliable, so he goes the extra mile to make sure that such product is at its best and further seals the product to avoid any contamination. Of course, God is the authour of this procedure, after salvation, our new birth experience, our spirit man becomes brand new (newly manufactured if I may say) - 2 Cor. 5:17; *Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new(KJV).*

God had to tell the devil and the world that we are now owned - belonging to Him and protected from contamination, so He gave us the Holy Spirit to symbolize the seal of ownership. The Holy Spirit in our hearts is an assurance that every package that comes with our salvation as promised by God will not elude us.

We can say that we have the certificate of ownership with which we can claim the promises. 2Cor. 1:22 (AMP); *It is He who has also put His seal on us [that is, He has appropriated us and certified us as His] and has given us the [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as a pledge [like a security deposit to guarantee the fulfillment of His promise of eternal life].* 2 Cor 5:5 (AMP); *Now He who has made us and prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the [Holy] Spirit as a pledge [a guarantee, a down payment on the fulfillment of His promise].*

Until the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, an event we all hopefully await, the Holy Spirit is our mark as the Lord comes for us- His harvest, His bride. Ephesians 4:30(NKJV); *And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.*

Not only that, but the Holy Spirit in us is also our guarantee that we will be raptured on that day. He is the surety that has been given to us as an assurance that Christ will never leave us here on earth and that at His return, He will take us to be with Him in glory.

*PRAYER POINTS
•Ask God for mercy for everytime you have neglected the Holy Spirit and His leading.

•Invite the Holy Spirit afresh to be involved in every area of your life as your senior partner.

•Ask the Holy Spirit to help you do the will of God as you await the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

INEC declares Obaseki winner of Edo governorship election

Nigerian 'Drug Peddler' On Expired Visa Arrested In India With 250 Gms Cocaine (Photo)

An alleged Nigerian drug peddler with expired visa was arrested in Delhi, India on Sunday, September 20, and 250 grams of cocaine valued at 20 lakh seized from his possession.

The yet-to-be-named suspect was arrested from the New Delhi Railway Station by the Railway Unit of the Delhi Police. According to a police officer, Harendra Singh, the suspect had been ''visiting Delhi from Bengaluru to supply drugs in rave parties.''

A fake American drivers licence was also found in his possession.

Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act) and 14 Foreigners Act.
