Cynthia Morgan Signs Management Deal With US Based The Facilitator Management

Dancehall singer, Cynthia Morgan, has signed a management deal with a top American entertainment firm, The Facilitator Management.

This was disclosed in a statement by the firm, made available to Channels Television on Thursday.

As the world appears to be increasingly fascinated by the Afrobeat sound, Cynthia’s new PR counsel, Muyiwa Babalola, says together, the firm is committed to utilizing her “raw magic” to continue to exhibit Afrobeat on the world stage and in a more organized dimension.

“The Facilitator Firm is a Full -Service Boutique Artist Management, Indie-Record Label, Artist Services and Publishing Company headquartered in Las Vegas, NV. forged by the partnership of Founder / CEO “ Uncle Odis “ Johnson and Co-Founder / President Tabiyah Yetunde. Both are longtime Music Industry Veterans with a combined total of 50 plus years of experience in music and entertainment.

“Cynthia resonates with a diverse fan base all over the world because of her feel-good music and vibe,” Babalola said, noting that she’s just as excited to join the new company.

“Odis Johnson and Tabiyah are the perfect match for me, Tabiyah has got in-depth knowledge of my type of music, she’s work with notable artists across the Caribbean and to top it all, her man-management skill is special. And Odis is such a genius, so much experience in the music business, he’s had great success managing some highly placed US base artists. I feel lucky to have the combination of these two wonderful individuals to work with,” the German Juice crooner was quoted to have said.

“I’m also excited because I believe you meet some people for a certain reason. Being a manager is more than just about the music. It’s everything that has to do with the artist’s life; a 360-dimensional thing.

“Tabiyah and Odis are individuals who also care about the artist as a person and not just about the music business. It’s important to be surrounded by people who actually care.”

“I made the decision to sign the deal with the global market in mind,” she said.

“The facilitator management firm definitely understands the global market,” My New PR team headed by Muyi, did a data mining research on my music and he presented to me, then I realized how much fans I have beyond the shores of Nigeria— including places I’ve never been. “I’m rest assured The Facilitator management firm can help bring that to a larger scale. Doing it independently, you don’t really have those teams to help worldwide. — “The facilitator” has worked with a lot of artists on the global stage, That’s why I wanted to partner up with them.”

About a month ago and after a long hiatus, Cynthia made a comeback with the release of a new single, ‘Hustle’.

Her years-long break is a result of some hardship she went through following her fallout with her former record label boss, Jude Okoye.

A source also disclosed to Channels Television that the firm is ready to engage Okoye for her royalties, an issue that has been a subject of intense controversy.

The Lagos based dancehall star is no stranger to hit tracks and topping charts.

She has released a number of award-winning and top 10 hits like German Juice, Lead Me On, I’m Taken, and Simatiniya, Baby Mama and so on.

She’s also set to make an international collaboration with Grammy award-winning artist “Snow Cone”.

Matshidiso Moeti: Hoodlums Plundered WHO's Office In Nigeria, PPEs Stolen

The World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Thursday, October 29, that hoodlums looted one of its offices in Nigeria and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) were stolen from the stores.

The African Regional Director, WHO, Dr Matshidiso Moeti, made this known while responding to questions on the impact of the hijacked endsars protest, riots and looting on its facilities and on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, during a webinar on Thursday October 29.

Moeti said that mass gathering remains a breeding ground for wide spread of the pandemic.

She said, “I think it is always a major concern when you have mass gathering where people fail to take precautions , especially during riots and demonstrations, there’s certainly going to be wide spread of the pandemic.

“As I said earlier, we were concerned not just by the situation in Nigeria which is very sad but mostly about the way the riot was carried out. We are aware that in the process, the WHO office in one part of the country was raided and looted and so were some stores of the Personal Protective Equipment, a development we we say is very sad.”

On whether Nigerians should expect an increase w possible outbreak, Moeti said, “It is a concern and we wish to see the situation ease. But from all Indications, there is a need to ensure that the public health interventions are there for quick response to any eventualities.”

“This is similar to the situation in Guinea where there were mass demonstrations and violence in very unsafe situations,” the WHO official added.

The WHO regional director said Africa had witnessed a decline in the rate of infections since July which led to many countries relaxing lockdowns. She, however, said in the last couple of weeks, the rate of decrease of infections had slowed down.

Moeti added: “We have seen a kind of flattening of the curve. It is no longer going down. It has plateaued.

“We have seen this in a number of countries and it is often linked to two things ; easing of the lockdowns to aid movement.

“Not just by the situation in Nigeria, which is very sad by the way, and we know that in the process, the WHO office in one part of Nigeria was actually looted and so were some stores of PPEs. It is a very sad situation.”

Why We Rejected Okonjo-Iweala’s Emergence As WTO Director-General –United States

Despite securing the vote of 163 of the 164 members of the trade organisation on Wednesday, Okonjo-Iweala could not be declared the head of the WTO because of the objection by the United States.

The United States has explained why it opposed the emergence of former Nigerian Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation.

Despite securing the vote of 163 of the 164 members of the trade organisation on Wednesday, Okonjo-Iweala could not be declared the head of the WTO because of the objection by the United States.

In a statement by the office of the US Trade Representative, America cited lack of experience and procedural issues for its stance.

The statement reads, “The Office of the United States Trade Representative issued the following statement today on the selection of the next World Trade Organisation Director-General:

“The United States supports the selection of Korean Trade Minister Yoo Myung-hee as the next WTO Director-General. Minister Yoo is a bona fide trade expert who has distinguished herself during a 25-year career as a successful trade negotiator and trade policy maker. She has all the skills necessary to be an effective leader of the organization.

“This is a very difficult time for the WTO and international trade. There have been no multilateral tariff negotiations in 25 years, the dispute settlement system has gotten out of control, and too few members fulfill basic transparency obligations.

“The WTO is badly in need of major reform. It must be led by someone with real, hands-on experience in the field.”

Vandalization: Time To Give Youths Chance Is Now, CAN Leader To FG

With the wanton destruction of public and private properties in some states by some aggrieved young men, the former Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in Cross River state, Archbishop Archibong Archibong, has said the time is fully ripe for government at all levels, particularly the federal government, to encourage Nigerian youths to exert themselves, saying doing so would usher in a period of new socio-economic ideas and vision for the good of the country.

In a chat with our reporter in Calabar, Thursday, the CAN leader, who is also the founder of the Calabar-based Intercessors Bible Mission (IBM) said the level of wanton destruction of public and private properties was an indication of the boiled up anger.

While commiserating with victims, Archbishop Archibong said “I condole with families of all those who had lost their lives and those who had also lost property. May the God of heaven strengthen them grant them the ability to bear the avoidable loss. I

“Looking at the ENDSARS protest and the level of vandalization that we have witnessed across the country, it is an indication that the young people are terribly angry. The country and its leadership and indeed the elders have taken the young people for granted for too long. There is an assumption that the youths do not just exist and the young people have just made a statement that they are there.

“Everyman with a vein in his body would, in the physical, be surprised at the depth of destruction and would inevitably condemn it with, but looking at it deeply and spiritually, it tells us about the deep rooted anger and venom in their heart. The level of destruction is telling us about the state of mind of the young people. They are so bitter to the extent that they are ready to destroy and even kill.

“As far as they are concerned, society is against their future, they government and the older people are out to destroy their destiny. The decay that has taken place, the lack of empathy, the suffering they undergo could force them to react destructively. If you look at Cross River state for instance, nobody would have believed that such carnage could have been inflicted on the state.

“Our leaders should create a chance for young people to assert themselves. We need to do something very fast about this situation and deliberately initiate steps to accommodate them, after all, the country belongs to them.”

The Clergy said he had, during meetings with pastors, appealed to them to preach on the pulpits that their membership should return whatever they looted, but called on the authorities not to contemplate clamping any youth into detention. He believed that at that hour of madness, the youth who participated in the destruction were controlled by another spirit.

“We agree that what they did was wrong but then we must learn a lesson from it. Let us collectively appeal to those who looted property to return them. Look at it this way, how do you take something you won’t even use? Some of them got involved because they saw others doing it.

“At that moment, there was no iota of reasoning. They were controlled by something above them. Let the government show an element of understanding and accommodate them even though it is very painful considering the gravity of vandalization which went on,” he stated.

On why the curfew which was declared on Friday evening in Cross River was not enforced to have warded off the vandalization on Friday night and the whole of Saturday, the CAN leader linked it to intelligence failure on the part of the government and the security agencies, saying the authorities were not proactive enough.
