HOW TO AVOID EMOTIONAL AFFAIR

Even if you are married to the best spouse in the whole world, if you do not guard your heart, you may end up "falling in love" with someone aside your spouse and eventually ruin your marriage.

No one gets married and plan to have affair but lots of married men and women are into affairs today because they slept when they should have been wide awake with their five senses alert.

1. Don't be too friendly with the opposite sex. This is where lots of married people land in trouble. Over spirituality and pride will destroy your marriage! You can't handle close friendship with the opposite sex as a married person. Your heart is involved. Set boundaries. Be disciplined. Be cordial. Be respectful. Be godly.

2. Don't share your personal problems with an opposite sex friend. It will bond you together. Problems bond people.

3. Don't contact any opposite sex you are fond of. If you secretly admire them, you are fond of them and their is a tingling in your heart at the mere thought of them, don't contact!

4. Avoid unnecessary eye contact that lingers with the opposite sex. “Say to the believing men that they restrain their eyes and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Surely, God is well aware of what they do.”

5. Don't tell an opposite sex you are romantic or sexy, that private information is for your spouse only.

6. Avoid discussions with the opposite sex when you are tired, very sad, depressed, sorrowful, drowsy, sleepy or very sick. This can cloud your judgment and make you say silly things. Talk to your husband/wife instead.

7. Avoid unnecessary compliment of the opposite sex.

8. Stop saying "I love you" to the opposite sex, for what?
I love you means that you are happy to have them in your life, because they make you happy, they make you feel peaceful, they make you feel content. It means that you would do almost anything to make them happy, to solve their problems, to see them laugh, or smile, to have their back, to be their confidante
9. Work on your marriage. Keep the fire of love and romance alive in your marriage!

10. Protect your family. Don't share your marital problem with your opposite sex friend, it will bond you.

11.Never flirt with the opposite sex.

Lagos Judicial Panel Visits Military Morgue, Insists On Inspecting Dead Bodies

The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry on Restitution for victims of SARS Related Abused and other matters Friday visited the military hospital at Ikoyi, insisting on inspecting the mortuary.

After about 30 minutes denial, soldiers were said to have granted them access to the area.

A member of the panel, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN, said the panel has ‘confidential information’ that certain events took place in the hospital on October 20, 2020.

His words “We are exercising our mandate on behalf of the governor of Lagos State under the tribunal of inquiry laws.

“We have already inspected the Lekki toll gate today and we decided to pay an unscheduled visit to the mortuary of the Military Hospital because we have confidential information concerning certain events that took place in the hospital here.

“We are waiting for them to grant us access to inspect the mortuary because we have reasons to believe that that facility is relevant to our investigation.

It would be recalled that about five bullets were discovered at Lekki Tollgate today.

Soldiers manning the gate at the Military Hospital in Ikoyi have stopped the Lagos judicial panel on #endsars from accessing the hospital’s mortuary.

The panel, unannounced, on Friday went to the hospital on investigation into the shooting at Lekki tollgate where 15 protesters were reportedly killed.

Some witnesses of the Lekki shooting accused the military of taking away the bodies of those killed in the incident.

The panel met resistance as it got to the gate of the hospital.

Ebun Adegboruwa, a member of the panel, told the soldiers, who stopped them at the gate, that the panel came to the hospital because it had intelligence that might help with its investigation.

“The facility is relevant to our investigation. We have a pathologist. We are here on the authority of the president, not only the governor,” he said.

“We are following dues process, and it is important we visit the mortuary as it will help our findings.

If we are not allowed access, we will go back and take other actions. We won’t force ourselves in. We have confidential information that the military hospital here is relevant in the investigation of the Lekki event. We heard this hospital is controlled by 65 battalion, and under the 81 division. We are also taking steps to reach military authorities.”

Adegboruwa said though the panel does not have evidence that there are bodies of those killed at the tollgate in the hospital, it was at the facility to verify the claim that they were.

He also said the panel will continue its work until it gets to the truth of the matter.

Journalists were also asked to leave the hospital premises while one of the soldiers threatened that “things will get dirty” if they refused.

Despite the presence of Doris Okuwobi, a retired justice and chairperson of the panel who arrived minutes later, the military did not allow the panel access to its facility.

Olaniyi Osoba, spokesperson of army’s 81 division in Lagos, was not immediately available for comment over the matter.

Earlier, the panel visited the tollgate where Yomi Omomuwansa, managing director of Lekki Concession Company (LCC), took the panel on a tour of the facility.

Arsonist attack: Over 250 production staff out of work – TVC’s CEO Hanlon

Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Television Continental (TVC), Andrew Hanlon on Thursday said more than 250 production staff working in the building razed by arsonists, have been out of work since the incident occurred.

He spoke when Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his team, among which included the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Gboyega Soyannwo, and Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, paid condolence visit to management of the burnt station.

Hanlon took the governor round the main auditorium, which was the hub of the TV station’s operation. It was completely razed.

The auditorium housed three main studios, three control rooms, three master control rooms and central transmission laboratory said to have been equipped with the modern communication gadgets worth millions of dollars.

All left in the building were charred materials.

The TV station boss also added that over 500 direct employees of the station had been struggling to work in temporary accommodation put up by the company.

Hanlon said: “After the rioters invaded our premises and set the place on fire, some buildings in the premises survived. But the main transmission building is completely destroyed and it was the hub of our operations. The rioters cast fear and terror in the hearts of our employees when they broke in last week’s Wednesday morning.

“People’s hard work and huge investment that went down into the TV station were destroyed in a period of about an hour. The incident was really traumatising for all of us. The rioters left immense devastation. The entire interior of the building was destroyed. This is all that is left of our bubbling building, which was a centrepiece. Thankfully, no member of staff died in the incident.”

Hanlon said the immediate priority before the management of the TV station was to ensure that all direct employees were looked after, stressing that the means of livelihood of thousands of indirect workers attached to the brand had been threatened.

He said efforts were being taken to return TVC back to its full operations, promising that the station would bounce back stronger than it was.

The Governor was also shown a wreck of burnt vehicles belonging to the station and employees.

IPPIS: FG Paid Some Professors N8,000 As Monthly Salary – Abiodun Ogunyemi

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Thursday said it is yet to call off its ongoing strike because the federal government has made a smooth negotiation very impossible.

Disclosing this on Channels Television programme ‘Politics Today’ monitored by Daily Independent , the national body of the university lecturers, led by its President, Prof. Abiodun Ogunyemi said that they are waiting for the government to conduct an integrity test on the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS), a homegrown payment platform created by ASUU in place of the government’s Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

Ogunyemi said due to the IPPIS structure, some university lecturers are losing up to 70 percent of their salaries while some professors received N8,000 as monthly salaries for several months.

He also accused the federal government of reneging on agreements with the union since 2013 including frustrating the plan by ASUU to introduce an alternative payment system for university lecturers.

While calling for the understanding of students and their parents, he said that as far as they are concerned, they don’t have any issue with going back to work, but they want more sincerity on the side of government.

“People are losing about 50 to 70 percent of their salaries. In fact, there were professors that were paid about N8,000 in some months in our campuses. So, we don’t expect something otherwise because that platform is not meant for the university system”.

“I believe our students and their parents will understand. If we have lecturers that have not been paid for eight, nine months, how can we have that person putting in their best into the system? If people are going back to the universities and they will be paid half or less of their usual salaries, how can we cope with that?”

“And salary is not the only issue like I said, there were allowances that were discussed; there was the issue of the salary scale. If we have been on the same salary structure for 11 years, I think our members have the right to say ‘No, that cannot happen. Government has made it difficult for smooth negotiation”.

It will be recalled that ASUU embarked on an industrial action about eight months ago across the country, following its dispute with the Federal Government over their insistence on the implementation of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) in the payment of University lecturers’ salaries and allowances.

Alternatively, ASUU developed a homegrown payment platform, UTAS, which they believe guarantees the autonomy of the university.
