Super Eagles: 3 Coaches Nigerians Want To Take Over From Gernot Rohr

The super eagles of Nigeria no doubt is one of the power house of African football with great exploits and talented players over the years.
But with the result so far this year the team looks a shadow of itself.

In fact throughout this calendar year 2020 the team has not won a single game. Both in competitive and friendly matches. The worse been the unacceptable 4-4 drew with Sierra Leone a team ranked 120 in the world.

And when a team is not performing in spite of the abundance of talents at its disposal. Then the coach needs to be changed since.

Therefore Gernot Rohr who has served as the second longest coach in Nigeria is yet to maintain a first eleven in more than two games
And worse of, the technical blunders the team makes in critical games is unpardonable.

Yes the argument for Rohr has been he lead us to a 3rd place finish at AFCON and qualified us for world cup. But that's in the past. And that feat has been also achieved by our local coaches. In fact Stephen Keshi exceeded that feat.. He won us the AFCON and even took us the world cup with a commendable performance. Yet when he couldn't performed again he was excused..

So why not if Four has reached his peak. Only one option is left..... Allow him use the exit door.

And the next question is who takes over after Rohr that will be tactically sound enough to lead this team to glory.

Three names comes to mind

Emmanuel Amunike

Sunday Oliseh

Hervé Renard

So guys who should take over as Super Eagles coach.

FG signs fuel transportation, storage deal with Niger Republic

…To evacuate excess petrol from Niger to Nigeria

The Federal Government, yesterday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the Republic of Niger for the transportation and storage of petroleum products.

In a statement in Abuja, Group General Manager/Special Adviser on Media to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Garba Deen Muhammad, said the MoU was reached following bilateral agreements between President Muhammadu Buhari and President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger.

According to Muhammad, talks had been on-going between the two countries for over four months – through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and Niger Republic’s National Oil Company, Societe Nigerienne De Petrole (SONIDEP), on petroleum products transportation and storage.

He explained that Niger Republics Soraz Refinery in Zinder, some 260 kilometres from the Nigerian border, has an installed refining capacity of 20,000 barrels per day, the country’s total domestic requirement is about 5,000 barrels per day, BPD, thus leaving a huge surplus of about 15,000 bpd, mostly for export.

Muhammad stated that the MoU was signed by the GMD NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari and the Director-General of SONIDEP, Mr. Alio Toune under the supervision of the two countries’ Ministers of State for Petroleum, Çhief Timipre Sylva and Mr Foumakoye Gado, respectively with the Secretary-General of the African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO), Dr Omar Farouk Ibrahim in attendance.

Speaking shortly after the MoU signing, Sylva expressed delight over the development, describing it as another huge step in developing trade relations between both countries.

He said: “This is a major step forward. The Niger Republic has some excess products which need to be evacuated. Nigeria has the market for these products. Therefore, this is going to be a win-win relationship for both countries. My hope is that this is going to be the beginning of deepening trade relations between Niger Republic and Nigeria.”

Also commenting on the development, Secretary-General of African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO), Dr Omar Farouk Ibrahim said he could not be happier with what he witnessed in terms of co-operation and collaboration between the two APPO member countries in the area of hydrocarbons.

He said: “I want to commend the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Niger and their leadership for this milestone.”

In his remarks, Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari, said the two countries have had long engagements in the last four to five months with a view to restoring the importation of petroleum products (excess production) from Niger into Nigeria.

He said: “With this development, we hope to have a long-lasting and sustainable commercial framework to have a pipeline from the Soraz Refinery in Zinder (Niger) into the most proximate Nigerian city so that we can develop a depot.

“We are happy that we have reached that conclusion and our two ministers have endorsed this framework. We are also working on detailed MoU between our two companies so that we can continue the execution process immediately.”

The NNPC helmsman further noted that being the most experienced of the two oil companies, the NNPC would support SONIDEP in terms of training and capacity building.

Court Orders Arrest Of Atiku Abubakar (Jr) Over Children's Custody

The Upper Area Court, Kubwa, Abuja, on Thursday, ordered the immediate arrest of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, son of Nigeria’s former Vice-President, for disobeying an October 27, 2020 judgment directing him to hand his three sons to their mother, Maryam Sherif, for custody.

Sherif had commenced the children-custody suit after the divorce between her and her former husband, Abubakar, who bears the same first name and surname with his father, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.

The judge, Bashir Danmaisule, delivered judgment in favour of Sherif on October 27, 2020.

But her lawyer, Nasir Saidu, returned the court complaining that Abubakar had failed to comply with the judgment.

Saidu had urged the court to issue a judgment-debtor summons for the defendant to appear in court to explain why he did not obey the court’s order and why he should not be jailed for disobeying the court judgment.

Both Abubakar and his lawyer, Abdullahi Hassan, were absent in court on Thursday, although the court bailiff said the defendant was served with the summons through the Nigeria Customs Service, where he works, on November 3, 2020.

Relying on the claim of the bailiff, Saidu urged the court to issue an arrest warrant against the defendant.

He urged the court to order that Abubakar be arrested and kept in jail pending when he obeys the court judgment.

He recalled that the defendant had consistently and flagrantly disobeyed the order of the court to bring the children at every court sitting in the course of the hearing of the case.

The judge, Danmaisule, in acceding to the judgment-creditor’s lawyer, noted that the judgment-debtor (Abubakar) appeared to have refused to appear in the court despite being served with the hearing notice.

Citing Section 26 of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Area Courts (Repeal and Enactment) Act 2010, issued an order “for the immediate arrest of the judgment-debtor”.
