#endsars Campaign: Buhari Appeals For Calm, Promises Reform

I met again with the IGP tonight. Our determination to reform the police should never be in doubt. I am being briefed regularly on the reform efforts ongoing to end police brutality and unethical conduct, and ensure that the Police are fully accountable to the people.

The IG already has my firm instructions to conclusively address the concerns of Nigerians regarding these excesses, & ensure erring personnel are brought to justice. I appeal for patience & calm, even as Nigerians freely exercise their right to peacefully make their views known.

End SARS: NANS tells IGP to arrest protesters, says Yahoo-boys sponsoring hoodlums

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to arrest those disturbing the peace of the society in the name of End SARS protest.

DAILY POST reports that the End SARS protest, which started in Lagos a few days ago, has spread to other parts of Nigeria.

A policeman was said to have been killed by protesters in Delta State on Thursday while a police station was vandalised in Ogun State on Friday.

Reacting, NANS cautioned the protesters not to throw the country into unnecessary crisis, saying protests currently going on in some parts of the country may develop into a full-blown chaos if care was not taken.

This was contained in a statement made available to DAILY POST by NANS National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Adeyemi Azeez in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Saturday.

According to Adeyemi, the protests had already been hijacked by hoodlums who may take advantage to wreak havoc on other law-abiding citizens of the country.

While conceding that the activities of the police force, not only that of SARS, should be reformed for optimal performance, Adeyemi warned that “we must be careful not to set the country on fire”.

“We are aware that some internet fraudsters, in a bid to continue perpetrating their criminal acts, are mobilising hoodlums to protest against the activities of SARS,” he stated.

Speaking further, the students body recalled that the IGP had ordered that SARS and other tactical units should no longer conduct checks neither should they mount road blocks.

Adeyemi, however, expressed worries that the people behind these protests are not satisfied with this.

“The police should not hesitate to arrest and prosecute anybody caught disturbing the peace of the public and causing violence all in the name of protest,” he stressed.

NIWA Boss Happy Over Containers Arrival At Onitsha Port.

Dr George Muoghalu, Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Agency (NIWA), has described the arrival of containers at Onitsha Port as a heart warming development.

He said that the containers arriving Onitsha Port was in line with the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government to put to use the waterways across Nigeria.

Muoghalu made the remarks in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Awka.

He explained that at the moment, containers which began to arrive at Onitsha Port on Sunday, Oct. 3, were coming from Onne Port, in Rivers State.

“Very soon, vessels will be carrying containers from Lagos Ports to Onitsha and by the grace of God, we are working on vessels bringing containers straight from foreign Ports to Onitsha,” he said.

NAN learnt that ships with containers last berthed at the Onitsha Port over three decades ago.

Onitsha, the commercial hub of Anambra, is renowned for trade and commerce in Nigeria and across West Africa.

Muoghalu said his agency was working assiduously to ensure that activities pick up at the Onitsha Port and other Ports, which past governments abandoned to decay.

He said that the Buhari government does not believe in praise singing, but was committed to policies and programmes that would uplift the living conditions of Nigerians.

“When we said on assumption of duty some months back that we would reactivate Onitsha Port, some people felt it was ferry tale, but today we have been vindicated,” Muoghalu said.(NAN)

Group Donates 50-Bed Isolation Centre For FMC Umuahia.

A group of eminent Abia sons and daughters says it has built and equipped a 50-bed isolation centre for the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia.

The group, Concerned Abia Professionals, in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Umuahia on Friday, stated that the facility had a molecular laboratory.

A member of the Project Implementation Committee and spokesperson of the body, Mrs Mary Ikoku, stated that the centre, referred to as “Abia Care Centre”, would be inaugurated and donated to FMC on Sunday.

Ikoku stated that the Minister of State for Health, Sen. Adeleke Mamora, would inaugurate and hand over the facility to the FMC management.

Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, she added, would be the Chief Host of the event.

The aim of the project is to ensure that Abia citizens get adequate emergency healthcare services in the event of a pandemic.

Ikoku further described the project as the group’s assistance to Abia Government in its fight against the pandemic in a sustainable manner.

“The project is dedicated to all those who have lost their lives during the pandemic,’’ the statement added.

The project initiator, Ngozi Ekeoma and Chairman, Project Implementation Committee, Johnson Chukwu, expressed joy over the completion of the project in record time.

They described the centre as one of the projects lined up by the group to support the growth and development of the state in collaboration with the government for the general good of the people.

Prominent Abia politicians billed to grace the event are the former Gov. Orji Kalu and his deputy, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, Deputy Chief Whip in the House of Representatives, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha among others.

The statement added that a delegation from the Abia-American Health Systems Inc. and Abia State National Association of North America among other Diaspora organisations would be in attendance. (NAN)

For Daring Us, We Will Launch Radio Biafra In Daura, IPOB Tells Buhari

The Nigerian Government had on Wednesday approved N654m for the deployment of hybrid spectrum monitoring system that would target illegal frequencies in the Southern part of the country especially, the South-East.

The Indigenous People of Biafra has dared President Muhammadu Buhari to stop them from launching Radio Biafra in Daura, his hometown.

The Nigerian Government had on Wednesday approved N654m for the deployment of hybrid spectrum monitoring system that would target illegal frequencies in the Southern part of the country especially, the South-East.

According to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, his ministry has uncovered 320 frequencies being used all over the country out of which 106 were illegal.

IPOB in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said, “The attention of the global movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra ably led by our great leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been drawn to the approval of N654m by the Federal Government of Nigeria to monitor and crash Radio Biafra frequencies in the country particularly in South-East and South-South geopolitical zones.

“This wicked but futile decision was taken during their Federal Executive Council meeting held Wednesday, 7th of October 2020.

“That the Federal Government of Nigeria headed by President Muhammadu Buhari mapped out such a whopping amount of money for this unreasonable project despite its precarious economic state only confirms it’s jittery over the name IPOB. We thought they said we are miscreants? How come they are now losing sleep over miscreants?

“The Nigerian Government and its agents have spent more than this amount in the past and nothing came out of it. We are expecting them to approve more money for the fight because they must understand that they will try but cannot withstand IPOB and its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Such attempts in the past amounted to efforts in futility, and this time, they will fail again.

“In fact to prove to them how formidable we are, within six weeks from now, IPOB will launch Radio Biafra in Daura, the hometown of Buhari who presided over the FEC that took this foolish decision. Any time he vists Daura along with Aisha, they will receive Radio Biafra frequency and listen to the gospel of freedom by our leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Then he will know that the cabal, their sponsors and slaves are no match to indefatigable IPOB.

“In case they are unaware, Radio Biafra is not only received in Biafraland but in various parts of Nigeria. It is also the choice radio station of millions of audience in over 100 countries of the world. We are well ahead of Nigeria, and it’s far too late to stop Biafra.” (#saharareporters)

*MAKE THAT MOVE; TAKE THAT STEP*

*BIBLE READING: PROVERBS 12*

*“The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, But diligence is man’s precious possession.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:27‬ ‭(NKJV)*‬‬

As we continue with our series on faith, we will be looking at taking action again today.

For some of us, there are many things that we have prayed for. We have believed God for jobs, and some of us have even gotten ideas that the Holy Spirit put there after we spent time in His presence, in the place of prayer. Sadly however, we have done nothing with them.

For many people, the problem is fear, that has crippled them and holds them back from taking that action to start that business, or to implement that breakthrough idea. Some others are afraid of being rejected and that is why they have not applied for those jobs or for those grants.

Today’s key text says that a lazy man does not roast what he has caught while hunting. This means that being lazy is not just about not going out to hunt, if after hunting you cannot finish up the job by roasting what you have caught, then you are lazy.

If you are too afraid to apply for that job, or that grant or to venture into that business, you stifle the manifestation and efficacy of your faith. If you have prayed, and you believe God, then take a step, make a move. The ultimate proof of your faith, is the action you take in line with your prayers after God has spoken. The proof of your desire, is in the pursuit. Have you prayed? Has God spoken? Do you have faith? Then make that move, take that action.

*PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I ask for the grace and the courage to step out and do what I need to do, to make my testimony a reality in Jesus name.
