*THE PECULIAR PEOPLE*

*BIBLE READING: II CORINTHIANS 6:14-18*

*But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. 1Peter 2:9-10 (NKJV).*

By divine design and predestination, God ordained us to represent and manifest the Government of Heaven on Earth. As the offspring of God, we received authority to exercise dominion and be in charge of the cosmos. Despite the divine mandate, sometimes because of delayed manifestation, some get so depressed and frustrated as a result of the vicissitudes of life when they don’t bear fruit, thereby, permitting low self-esteem and loss of joy to creep in but the scriptures admonish us- *“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1: 2-4(NKJV).*

You are a king, the chosen one, a peculiar person with the kingly anointing upon your life. When the kingly anointing rests on you, you become the most favoured, kings rise to recognise you, your presence gets noticed because of the anointing. A prince is a prince no matter his age, the only difference is that he is required to mature to the point where he begins to recognise and manifest his authority. You have already been chosen, adopted and elected by God (John 15:16). All you need to do is to grow, mature and begin to manifest God’s investment and treasure inside of you.

When Samuel anointed David as King of Israel, he became the preferred one with the Spirit of God but he was allowed time to mature, learn and serve under Saul before God finally permitted him to rule. “Now the LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.” Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The LORD has not chosen these.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.” “And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.” So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the LORD said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!” Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.” 1Samuel 16:1;10-13 1(NKJV).

The anointing of God that distinguishes us in our various fields is not reserved for a particular set of people based on human standards or preferences but as ordained by God. However, it can only be activated in the place of prayer and submission to the will of God. Our ordination and God’s investment in our lives is the advantage that distinguishes us as His peculiar people to manifest on earth.

*PRAYER
Father in Heaven, I come by the blood of Your precious lamb and ask for mercy upon my life. I ask that you fill me with your grace and anointing as your chosen one, that I may fulfill your heavenly mandate for my life in Jesus Christ name, amen.

*CONFESSION
I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own special child, that I will proclaim the praises of Him who called me out of darkness into His marvelous light.
