Let's get something straight, after all is said and done, you're just a tenant on any social media platform you use.
What shall it profit a person/business to have millions of followers, but none of their followers' contacts outside the social network?
So what do you do?
Start designing campaigns that will enable you have the contact details (the least should be the name, email and/or phone number) of your social media contacts.
If you have a website, ensure it has been designed to save the contact details of people who make enquiries or purchase/subscribe to your service.
Memory Verse: Social Media is a marketplace and not a resting place; you don't own any of the assets you build on it.
I come in peace!
Having a website is good but see, if you're not ready to bear the cost of updating your site plugins and code, don't bother building one.
So when your developer presents you with the cost of building your site, also ask for his maintenance contract ...e get why.
I have spent all day recovering a couple of hacked sites that have not been updated since they were built ...some for 5 years.
Some domains have already been banned by Google.
No serious business person opens shop and doesn't factor in the operational cost of maintaining the office.
I come in peace!

The South East Governors' Forum (SEGF) and private sector partners led by SEREDEC, as significant regional platforms, have organized the annual South East Economic Summits (SEES).
SEES is a multi-stakeholder event that provides an opportunity for the government, the private sector, and citizens to interact on issues relating to the development of the South East (SE). This is the 5th in the SEES series of annual events.
The SEES Series has been highly successful in driving regional thinking and dialogue concerning both the general Ease of Doing Business (EoD issues and specific Regional Infrastructural Projects.
The 5th SEES (17th December 202 is being held virtually taking into consideration the effects that COVID-19 pandemic has had on physical gatherings.
With lessons from the #ENDSARS peaceful protests and impact of COVID 19, the Summit focuses on the Youth as the engine for South-East entrepreneurship and industrialization while promoting gender balance and inclusivity.
We thank our panelists who made time from their busy schedules to be part of this virtual summit.
Also we specially thank our partners ( The South East Governors' Forum and FCDO PERL) for their tremendous support in making this summit a success.
