LIMITED MINDSET
BIBLE READING: PSALM 78
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God- Rom. 8: 5-8 (ESV).
A limited mindset is a mindset that is not receptive to improvement and growth. When a believer's mindset is fixed or restricted to especially new ideas, information or knowledge for advancement, it is a limited mindset. Limiting mindsets according to our key Scripture, are minds that are set on, controlled and ruled by the flesh(carnal) rather than by the spirit (spiritual).
Psalm 78 reminds us of the signs and wonders God did through Moses to bring the Isrealites out of slavery in Egypt, leading them to the promised land but the bondage in their minds kept them from going into the promised land. "Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel"- Ps. 78: 41(KJV). People with limiting mindsets see limitations in everything they do because their minds have been programmed to think negatively. Negative strongholds in the mind, like strongholds of fear, strongholds of lack, and strongholds of failure, are built by nurturing negative thoughts which attract more negative thoughts that paralyze you and make you draw back from taking hold of the promises of God. "But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved- Heb.10:39 (NIV).
The knowledge of God produces faith. (Rom. 10: 17). Faith is a major attitude of someone with a renewed mindset but a limited mindset is saturated by fear. Mind experts say, your life moves in the direction of your predominant thoughts, the Bible says it this way, "For as he thinks in his heart so is he..."- Pro. 23:7(NKJV). That is why we are enjoined in Pro. 4:23(NIV), "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do, flows from it." To guard is to protect, it requires effort on your part.
A believer with a limiting mindset has not renewed his/her mind to prosper. Anytime you want to go beyond a limitation, you have to move it first in your mind. A breakthrough occurs when another level of thought hits your mind, that takes you beyond your former limitations. It is a shift in your mindset which results in a shift in your circumstances. As a New creature in Christ Jesus, you have been given the spirit of faith, not the spirit of fear. (2 Cor. 4:13 ; 2 Tim.1: 7). Break down the walls of limitation in your mind with the word of God by meditating on the word according to Joshua 1:8. Think Godly thoughts in line with Phil. 4:8. To prosper physically, think about products or services you can offer that meet the needs of humanity.
PRAYER
Father, I pray that through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, I will receive revelation knowledge as I study your Word, that renews and transforms my mind, so that I will prosper in every area of my life.

MONEY IS A TOOL NOT A MASTER
BIBLE READING: LUKE 16:10-14
“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided him." Luke 16:13–14 (NKJV).
Money is any acceptable medium of exchange which is also used to store value. The importance of money cannot be overemphasized. It is one of the most contentious issues which have the capacity to make or mar its possessor depending on his/her disposition. Money itself is amoral but it is our attachment to and our worship of money that will lead us into sin - “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” 1Tim 6:10 (NIV).
The earth belongs to God and He has given us power of attorney to steward His resources. When Jesus says, “You cannot serve God and money,” the word used for money is specifically “mammon.” Just as “wisdom” is personified throughout the Bible, Jesus personifies money here as another entity that vies for our allegiance. What is interesting here is that the Pharisees were infected with this love of money, and it caused them to immediately discount what Jesus was saying - "The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they decided him." Luke 16:14(NKJV). God does not talk about money because He is broke and needs a helping hand. Far from it. God owns everything - "Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine. Exodus 19: 5 (NIV).
Since God is the rightful owner of everything we have, this means the money we earn belongs to God. Practically speaking, God calls us to manage the money we accumulate on His behalf. This is the essence of Biblical stewardship. It is important that we periodically do a personal wellness check regarding our attitudes about money and possessions - "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Luke 12:34(KJV).
Our money should be deployed to support the advancement of God’s kingdom agenda. Money is a tool because it is through our prosperity that the Gospel will be taken to the ends of the earth – “Cry yet, saying, thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem. Zach 1:17(KJV).
Money is a veritable tool that has the tendency to enslave its possessor. We are enjoined to serve the Lord with our money but not serve money which demands worship - You cannot serve God and money. Are you maximizing the resources God has given to you as a tool to advance the Gospel, and bless lives or are you a slave to money? Selah!
ACTION POINT:
Obtain your bank account statement and review your expenditure for the past 6 months. If the bulk of your expenses does not show that your money has been a tool for the advancement of God’s Kingdom, repent and consciously use your money as a tool.

THE POWER OF PROPHETIC CONNECTION (2)
BIBLE READING: DEUT. 34:9; JOSH. 1 17-18
As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage. Exodus 17:11
What a man needs to succeed in life is much more than enviable certifications or cutting-edge skill. You need more than instruction; you need apostolic or prophetic impartation. Joshua had faithfully served Moses, and when the latter’s day of departure was near. Moses asked God to choose a man that would take on the next phase of the assignment. God told him to take Joshua his assistant, and publicly endorse him, putting his hands on him. This was an impartation that eternally redefined the ministry of Joshua as coroborrated by Deut.34:9(KJV); "And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him; and the children of Israel harkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses."
Joshua 1:17-18 also demonstrates that the impartation of wisdom, honour, and authority that Moses carried was seen functioning effortlessly in the life of Joshua because he was rightly connected to Moses. As you connect properly with your man of God, there are things that will bow to you cheaply. The servant of Elisha had his master's rod but not his master's voice. How do I rightly connect to my prophet?
I. PRAY FOR HIM: Philippians 1:19; Ephesians 6:18-19. There are so many burdens on the shoulders of your man of God. Pray constantly for him.
II. LISTEN TO HIM: Luke 16 :30-31. Treasure his words, instructions and teachings.
III. SERVE HIM: Philippians 2:22, "But ye know the proof of him, that as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel." Joshua 1:1, further illustrates - "Now after the death of Moses the servant of Lord, it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying...." God addressed Joshua as, "Moses' servant," not his associate. Serve your man of God in any capacity.
IV. HONOUR HIM FINANCIALLY AND MATERIALLY: In Luke 8:1-3, several upwardly mobile women that benefited from the ministry of Jesus brought money to support and honour Him.
Philippians 4:15-19, we often quote verse 19; not realizing that, that apostolic and prophetic invocation was as a result of the preceeding verses that tell us about the partnership through giving and receiving that went on between the Apostle Paul and the Philippian church. It was not a wish; it was a sweet-smelling aroma, a sacrifice acceptable and, well-pleasing to God. The Philippian church engraved themselves into the heart of Apostle Paul with their substance to such an extent that he always remembered them with joy.
PRAYER:
Father, I ask for the right attitude toward my spiritual shepherd, that my partnership with him in the advancement of the gospel will be of great joy, that I may share in his grace in Jesus name, Amen.
