Ini Ex-Lawmaker Escape Dead Days After Exposing Council Chairman

*As Unidentified Armed Men Attack, beat wife and 3months old baby to pulp

A former Councilor from Ini Local Government Area, Hon. Ubong George escaped dead following an assassination attempt by some unidentified armed men who stormed his residence yesterday night at around 9m.

it could be recalled that few days after making a shocking revelation of how the Executive Chairman of Ini Local Government Area, Hon. Israel Idaisin contracted him and others to administered fetish oath (Mbiam) to politicians, Hon Ubong George raised alarm over threat to live yesterday. He cried for help and protection from Government and other relevant authorities.

In a telephone conversation with this Reporter yesterday at around 2m, the Former Council Lawmaker alerted that unknown armed men were threatening his life and trailing his moving.

He however alleged that the armed men maybe going after him through the order of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Israel Idaisin.

According to findings, Ubong John is former Councillor who held from the same political Unit and Ward with Mr. Idaisin - a former PDP Chapter Chairman and currently serving his second tenure as Executive Chairman of Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.

This Reporter learnt that the armed men attacked him at his resident in Ikot Udo Asan, the same village where Hon. Israel Idaisin also held from.

Report gathered indicated that Hon. George managed to escaped the attack. However, his wife identified as Affiong Ubong George and a three (3) months old baby were humiliated and beatened pulp.

Meanwhile, properties worth Millions of Naira have been destroyed.

However, he has called on the State Chief Executive, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the leadership of PDP in Akwa Ibom State and security operatives to come to his rescue.
