Girl Killed Her Bf While Testing Bullet Proof Charm

In a bid to test the efficacy of bullet-proof charms, a young woman, whose name was given simply as Blessing, Wednesday, shot his boyfriend to death in Nelson Mandela street of Calabar South local government area of Cross River state.
Eyewitnesses said the young man, whose real name could not be ascertained as at press time but addressed as ’email’ by his friends and neighbours, was said to have asked Blessing to shot at him after ‘fortifying’ himself.
Unconfirmed reports indicated that before the incident, ’email’ was a major dealer in Indian hemp business in the area. Sources, who preferred not to be named, said he was with a group of his friends at the time of the incident.
A younger brother to the girl narrated what actually happened. He said Blessing was a friend to deceased and that at about 11.am of that fateful day, the sister passed by the compound of the late boyfriend at the time the deceased was with his group of friends.
“By this time, they had taken local concoctions including native charms against guns and bullet shots. They then started testing the efficacy of the anti-gunshoot charms among themselves. Others tested and it proved effective but the deceased young man chose to ask Blessing to use the gun and shoot at him to test the efficacy of the charm.
‘Unfortunately, the bullet penetrated and he slumped and died instantly and there was serious confusion ” he stated.
Reports said people in the area and the deceased friends pounded on the girl and even used matchet and other weapons mercilessly on her but that she was rescued by the quick arrival of the police at the crimes scene.
Report said the Police carried the body of the deceased alongside Blessing to the Police Clinic in Calabar where she is said to be receiving treatment while ’email’ corpse was deposited at the morgue.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Irene Ugbo, confirmed the incident, but added that investigations on the untoward development were on going.
