*NOT BY POWER OR BY MIGHT*

*BIBLE READING: PRO. 3:5; ROM. 8:3-10*

*So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts. Zechariah 4:6(NKJV).*

The Bible says, “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God” (1 Cor. 3:19a). There is no amount of human intellect or skill sufficient to accomplish the work of God effectively. It is not by power nor by might or abilities of our own, but by the Spirit of God, that we will live fruitful lives in the Lord’s service on this earth.

God's intention is for us to depend on Him for everything. Human might, power, and strength are not sufficient to accomplish the work of God on earth (Pro. 3:5). Many times, we do ministry with our flesh and natural intellect but relying on the flesh will get you no where and will definitely exhaust you at the end. What we need to do is to trust God and stop trying to manipulate the situation. Exodus 14 :13(NKJV) says, *And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.* God wants us to have faith in Him and remove every plan B, C, or D. It takes the presence, enablement, and power of the Holy Spirit in our lives to fulfill our calling on earth.

The One who stimulates all revival, as well as all effective ministry is the Spirit of God, the third Person of the Trinity. As Jesus anticipated His own return to heaven, He told His disciples that it was good for them that He goes, because from heaven He would send the Holy Spirit to be with them and in them always (John 14:16-17; 16:7).

After the Holy Spirit brings us into our initial relationship with God through His Son Jesus, He continues to lead us, empower us, and reveal God’s mind to us throughout our earthly lives. And it is only through Him, that we can “finish” our lives on earth with victory and can look back on a life well spent under the Holy Spirit’s daily control.

*PRAYER
Lord, teach me how to trust in You, remove every voice of doubt in my mind and fill me up with your Holy Spirit so that I may be led by You.
