*LIVING READY*

*BIBLE READING:LUKE 21:6-36*

*Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Matthew 24:43-44(KJV).*

A bride to be (knowing who her husband is) prepares herself for the time (usually a fixed date) when the bridegroom will come to collect her from her father's house and take her to his.

Jesus Christ our Bridegroom, after His resurrection, promised that He would come back for us, having left to go and prepare a place for us as written in John 14:2-3(KJV); *In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.*

Knowing that we have been promised by Christ Jesus that He will receive us to Himself, what kind of life should we live? How should we behave? 2 Corinthians 7:1(KJV) says, *Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.*

How ready will you be when the Lord Jesus finally comes for us? Will you be wallowing in sin when you should be cleaning and beautifying yourself for the Groom? No groom wants to meet his bride in an unclean state, it automatically puts him off but when the groom comes and sees his bride so beautiful and expectant for him, he becomes joyous over such bride. Luke 21:34(NKJV) says; *But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.*

The Bible recommends that we should always be on the alert, waiting and expecting the return of Christ. If we are vigilant, it will show in our relationship with God and men. We would be more sensitive and not follow the ways of the world. 1 Thessalonians 5:4‭-‬6(KJV); *But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.* Luke 21:36(KJV); *Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.*

As wise people, having the word of God already showing us how we must live and what to look out for, we ought to have understanding and keep our garments white and unstained. Daniel 12:9‭-‬10(KJV) says; *And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.*

It is necessary that we live ready as we will have to stand before God and give account of our lives to Him. 2 Corinthians 5:10(KJV); *For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.*

*PRAYER
•Ask God for mercy for not living according to the values of His kingdom.

•Ask for a cleansing and sanctification from every work of the flesh.

•Pray that your garments will always be white and your head will not lack oil.
