*THE POWER OF SYNERGY*

*BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 18:18-20; MARK 6: 7-13; 1 THESSALONIANS 3:2*

*“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NKJV).‬*

The wisdom of pulling resources and working together was first demonstrated by the Trinity in the execution of creation and specifically illustrated during the formation of man (Genesis 1:26). God also applied the principle when He blessed man and gave him dominion over the earth by blessing “them” and not “him” - *And God blessed them [granting them certain authority] and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it [putting it under your power]; and rule over (dominate) the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28(AMP).* God did not create man to be independent but to be dependent on Him and work together with others in exercising the dominion mandate.

A synergy is a combined action or operation to obtain a desired outcome. It means that the effect of the whole is greater than the sum of the effects of the individual parts. Teamwork will produce an overall better result than if each person was working toward the same goal individually. This principle has its foundation from the scripture – *“Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will put ten thousand to flight; your enemies will fall before you by the sword.” Leviticus 26:8 (AMP).* Strength and skills are required for the attainment of any vision. As an individual or as a cooperate body there is a threshold you cannot exceed when you don’t work with others because maximum productivity requires maximum cooperation.

Choosing strategic partners that will ensure productivity requires wisdom and discernment. In choosing the people to work with, you must check if they have the same vision or are willing to pursue the vision when they are onboard. Vision casting is important in building synergy because partnership with those not aligned to your vision cannot get you the required results. Another important factor to consider is that the synergy must be symbiotic and not parasitic. Each partner must contribute either tangible or intangible resources that will foster the attainment of the set objectives. The parties can offer finance, time, skill, and other valuable resources.

In the brotherhood covenant we discussed yesterday, Jonathan did not only willingly offer gifts (1 Samuel 18:4) but he bequeathed his inheritance (the throne) to David - *“Then Jonathan, Saul’s son, arose and went to David in the woods and strengthened his hand in God. And he said to him, “Do not fear, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you. You shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you. Even my father Saul knows that.” 1 Samuel 23:16-17(NKJV).*

The rewards of synergy transcends generations when kingdom values like the fear of God, mutual respect, honouring covenant relationships, and respect for authority are adhered to by the partners (1 Peter 2:17). We saw this yesterday, when Melphibosheth who was the son of Jonathan was honoured by King David because of the covenant David had with Jonathan. Before you create synergy, think about the impact it will have on the next generation. In fulfilling the great commission of our Lord Jesus and ensuring that the kingdoms of this world conform to the government of Heaven; the importance of synergy cannot be over emphasized.

*PRAYER POINT
Thank God for the wisdom of synergy and ask for discernment to know the right people to build sustainable trans-generational synergies with.
