*RENEW YOUR STRENGTH*

*BIBLE READING: GENESIS 2:1-5; EXODUS 31:15-17; ISAIAH 40:28-31*

*"In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength." But you would not, - Isaiah 30:15(NKJV)*

God worked into creation the principle of rest which He called Sabbath. In Genesis 2:1-5, God sanctified time after He formed man from the dust of the ground. Even though man was the glory of creation, God put a principle into motion that will enable man function effectively in his purpose which is to have dominion over the earth.

The principle of rest is a foundational principle that governs the universe. God did not just establish it, He was the first to observe it. God made it a sign between Himself and His people as an eternal ordinance. It was recorded that God rested and was refreshed (Exodus 31:15 -17). The statement that God rested and was refreshed is mind boggling; how can God be refreshed? From that moment forward, everything in heaven and on earth was meant to observe rest on the seventh day.

The prime purpose of this principle is to: renew, reset, reorder, revitalize, recalibrate, every facet of creation. It is so critical that it is not only man who is to observe this principle, even animals, hired servants (staff), land; all factors of production. Rest runs: daily (sleep), weekly (sabbath), and seasonally (7 and 50 year cycles).

There are various ways of renewing your strength spiritually: By appearing before God in Zion, praying in the spirit, fasting, ministering to the Lord, and meditating on the word (Psalms 84:7; Isaiah 28:11-12; 40:26-31). There are too many events that can weigh us down in this present age but as we continuously appear corporately and individually before God, we are being renewed and refreshed in our inner man.

The Bible in 1Timothy 4:8(NKJV) says; *For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.* From this scripture, although the profit of bodily exercise is little when compared to spiritual exercises, it still makes a world of difference in our mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Psalms 104:30 (NKJV) says; *You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth.* Ultimately, the outpouring of the Spirit can heavily impact the earth physically.
