Apply for MBB Grant: Cohort 3

Applications are open for the Mary Babatola Bifarin Grant 2024. This program will award grants up to N500,000 to at least two teams or individuals in Nigeria, supporting impactful projects.

This grant aims to cultivate innovative thinking among young people in Nigeria, encouraging them to address (complex) societal issues/problems proactively and with a sense of responsibility. Personal grants will also be considered. This year’s theme is open ended.

The application process consists of two steps. This initial step is designed to be quite straightforward. Applicants who are motivated and well-prepared should be able to finish it in less than thirty minutes.

Applicants who are selected from the initial application will be invited to submit a more detailed application and/or attend an interview. It is advised to apply early since preference may be given to early submissions.

Are specific academic qualifications required ?
Academic qualifications are not required. However, if you do have relevant academic qualifications for your project, be sure to state that in your application.

Will the winning projects be made public?
Yes.

How do I know the outcome of my application?
Only successful grant applicants will be contacted.

What does your ideal winning team/individual/project look?
If it’s a team, it will be ideal if it’s multidisciplinary. You could also be a lone wolf.

What is the age limit?
Preference will go to the applicants who are 35 years old or younger.

How will I get the money?
Ideally in two or more chunks (directly in your bank accounts or via Paypal), you will need to give project update to initiate each round of collection.

What is the time frame for the project completion?
None. However, preference will be given to shorter projects (without sacrificing potentially impactful ideas)
