I am told that the picture below is the picture of Jim Thorpe, a Native American from Oklahoma who represented the United States in a track and field event at the 1912 Olympics.
Take a close look at the photo and you will see that he was wearing different socks and shoes.

Yet it wasn't a fashion statement.

On the morning of the competition, Jim's shoes were stolen.
Fortunately he ended up finding two shoes in a garbage can.

But one of the shoes was too big, so he had to wear an extra sock for his foot to fit.
Wearing these shoes, Jim won two gold medals that day.

Jim Thorpe's story should teach us that excuses are made and whatever can be made can be unmade.
If you think life has not been fair to you that should not be the reason you drop out of the race entirely.
If life has handed you lemons then turn them to lemonade.

Whatever you woke up with this morning- depression as a result of wasting previous opportunities life gave you, ill health, a failed marriage or relationship, or a failed business, do not let it stop you from running your race.

Like someone has said, "you will experience more out of life if you get over the excuses and get on with living."

Always remember that you can have reasons or you can have results...but you cannot have both.
