There are so many reasons to this.

1. We have allowed the media model what marriage should be and most of this is coming from the West that has weak marriage institutions.

2. Our parents have failed to pass on the principles they used to keep a home together.

3. Many young people don't want to go through the fire of marriage; they think marriage is supposed to be a bed of roses.

There are many other reasons but the bottom line is that anyone who wants to settle down must be prepared psychologically, financially and emotionally.
