PETER OBI'S STATEMENT AFTER JOINING LABOUR PARTY.
I thank all Nigerians, especially our youths who have joined me in the mission of taking back and reuniting Nigeria.
This project is yours and for the future of your children. I am just a facilitator.
Since I resigned from the PDP because of issues that are at variance with my persona and principles, I have consulted widely with various parties and personalities to ensure we do not complicate the route to our desired destination.
For me, the process of achieving our goal is as fundamental as what one will do thereafter.
Therefore, I have chosen a route that I consider to be in line with our aspirations and my mantra of taking the country from consumption to production; and that is the #labourparty which is synonymous with the people, workers, development, production, securing and uniting Nigerians as one family.
I invite all Nigerians to join me in taking back our country.
Be assured that I'll never let you down.

While Peter Obi was dumping PDP today, One Mr. Scott was trying to scam me and my wife this afternoon.
So, I run short-lets in Lekki and last night I got a booking alert from Booking.com that Mr. Scott booked our 4-bedroom apartment for 30 nights at a rate of $180/night. So for 30days + tax, he was expected to pay $5,914 and check in today. Naturally, I was excited! Something in my head rang a bell… why did a single guest book a 4-bedroom apartment?
Anyway, shortly after the booking, Oga Scott sent me a message inquiring about the security of the apartment. Then he went further to say that this was his first visit to Naija and he wants us to arrange airport pickup. I told him we normally do not do airport pickups, but he said he will pay for the service when he arrives at the apartment. That we should please arrange it.
One thing to note, he hadn’t paid the $5,914. He just made a reservation online. He said he will pay at check-in. This is not unusual with booking.com. We have had multiple guests that reserved online and paid at check-in.
Shortly after our conversation, I sent him the details of the driver that will pick him up, I even sent him a picture of the driver. He said he was grateful and will land today by 1pm. Shortly after that, he sent me his itinerary. From his itinerary, I could see he was flying with Egypt Air.
This morning, the dude sent me a picture and said this is how he looks this morning. He said he was sending the picture so the driver will be able to easily identify him.
At 1:15pm, he buzzed me and said he just landed and was approaching immigration to process his visa on arrival.
45mins later, I got a call from my wife. She told me that Mr. Scott called her and said he has a problem with the immigration people at the airport.
What is the problem? I asked
“He needs to pay for his visa and do not have dollars or naira to pay for it.” My wife replied.
“He said they told him that he needs to change the currency he brought into dollars or Naira to pay for the visa fees.” My wife went on to explain
“let him go and change money naaaa”.. I queried
“He cannot leave the immigration area until he pays the visa fees.” She went on to explain.
“He is begging that we should assist him. I spoke with the immigration lady and she said we should transfer the naira to her, and she will process his visa. The lady just sent the account number” . my wife went on.
What is the guest saying? I asked.
He said that as soon as he leaves the immigration area, he will change money and pay us.
“Ok go ahead and make the transfer,” I said and dropped the call.
Immediately after I dropped the call, my brain exploded…. “IT’S A SCAM”
I quickly called back my wife … she picked on the first ring.
“Don’t pay a dime! It’s a scam.” I quickly told her. Luckily, she hadn’t made the transfer.
How do you know? she asked
How can you travel to Nigeria without a currency that our immigration people will accept? I replied
If it's his first time in Naija, someone invited him. Let him call the person for help.
Then through a friend, we contacted a contact inside the airport. Please go to passport control and see if there is anyone there with payment issues.
Oga there is no one here ooo. All the passengers have passed through!
Meanwhile, we called the immigration lady back, have you made the payment? She asked…
Where are you? we are sending someone inside the airport to resolve the situation. We said
We are in the immigration area; they won’t allow your person to come here.
Madam don’t worry, our person has access to the immigration area. ....and she cut the call.
We called madam back no response.
We called Mr. Scott no response.
And that was how Mr. Scott failed in trying to scam N68,000 from me today.
I am just wondering the number of people that were at the airport today to pick up Mr. Scott and then transferred 68k to Madam Immigration.

SEX
A man can travel for eight hours 'just to have sex with a female friend and yet, not love her.
Sex makes men act as if they are in love.
The eight hours travel sacrifice, gifts bought, hotel paid for and other expenses may seem to be coming from true love but they were all in the sacrifice for sex and nothing more.
The foolish thing is this, majority of women would jump up inside them and conclude that this is art of true love. Sex is not an art of commitment. Men still leave the women they sleep with on bed and start thinking of the next woman to sleep with. The satisfaction that
comes from sex dies in minutes.
It is in the nature of Lions to go miles to hunt. The same with men. A man who can afford the expenses of flying from America to Nigeria for sex would do it as if he would never turn to another woman for sex.
Sex drives men to do what seems like the
impossible and such turns women around and they start acting weird. Sex and love are not in the same page even in dictionary.
People can abandon their gold mines and dig the grave for sex. Most young men do terrible things just to have the resources to keep many girls in their life. You may think they are working hard to live well in the future but they are just living for
fun and that is all. Students are now living
together like husbands and wives, and our
society calls it love. What kind of people do these students become when they leave school?
This is why we have a lot of frustrated graduates than nation building graduates.
Today, a 16 year old girl is already into sex. She wants to wear everything on trend. She is already a prostitute in the sense that any man
that comes her way for relationship must show some signs of money and she would respond to him.
The funny thing is this, almost all those girls that have become sex symbols end up in deep mess. How many of them today is changing the world they are into? What kind of spirit would they do well with in life? They have sold their souls out
to sex. They pride on what they wear and hotels they go to. That is their biggest achievement. The girls they called cowards are setting up economic empires. Their future is already exhausted when they they come to their true senses?
Advice to my beloved brothers and sisters:
For men; never allow your erection today to destroy your future directions, stay positive.
My sisters, all that glitters is not gold, make your future bright and its start today.
Man Who Is Certain His Sister Died 8 Years Ago Accidentally Sees Her at His New Friend’s House Left In Shock
A young man who has been mourning his sister who died in an accident eight years before is stunned when he sees her at the home of a new friend from work.
Danny Ballon was just 17 when his older sister, Lily, died in a car accident with her husband. It was very traumatic for Danny and his parents since Lily and her husband’s bodies had burned in the wreck.
Two months after Lily died, the Ballons decided to leave Boston and move to Los Angeles as far away as possible from the place where their beloved daughter had died. Danny adapted to his new life in California, but he never ever forgot his beloved sister.
Over the next few years, Danny lived what to outsiders seemed a normal life, but his parents knew that he had never gotten over the loss of his sister.
Every year, he marked the anniversary of Lily’s death. He couldn’t believe she was really gone, something in his heart told him it just couldn’t be.
Danny went to college and got his degree in mechanical engineering, and once he graduated, he accepted a job offer in Boston.
“Oh Danny,” his mother sighed. “I honestly don’t think going back there is such a good idea…”
“Mom,” he said. “I think it’s exactly what I need, a way to get closure, to come to terms with Lily’s death. It’s been eight years and I still can’t believe it…”
So Danny went back to Boston and got himself a small apartment in his old neighborhood.
Work was challenging but he loved it, and now that he was back in Boston, he felt more at peace, as if some answer he’d been seeking was closer at hand.
He made several friends but became particularly close to his immediate superior, Peter Sully.
Miracles happen when you least expect them.
Peter was a calm, kind man and was often teased by the other engineers because he never joined them for after-work drinks.
Peter was always in a hurry to go home to his wife to whom he was devoted. “Can’t blame him,” said one of Danny’s friends enviously. “She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen!”
Danny was curious about this lovely wife, but Peter had no photos of her on his desk.
Then one day, Danny had his chance to meet the famous Mrs. Sully when Peter invited him to his home for dinner.
On his way to Peter’s house, Danny bought a nice bottle of wine and a bouquet of summer flowers for his hosts.
He arrived right on time and was greeted by Peter with a broad smile.
“Come on in, Danny, meet my lovely Lily!”
“Lily?” asked Danny. “My sister’s name was Lily.”
“I didn’t know you had a sister!” exclaimed Peter. “Does she live in Los Angeles?”
Danny shook his head. “No. My Lily died in a car accident eight years ago.”
Peter looked sympathetic and said, “I’m so sorry, Danny, I had no idea!”
It was then that a tall, slim woman with long auburn hair walked in carrying a tray with wine glasses.
“Danny,” Peter said proudly, “I would like you to meet my wife, Lily!”
Lily smiled sweetly and then she gasped. The tray slipped from her fingers and all the glasses shattered on the floor. “Danny?” she asked. “Danny, is that really you?”
Danny couldn’t believe his eyes. The woman Peter had said was his wife was his sister Lily!
Danny swayed and fell over in a dead faint. When he came to, he was lying on a couch and Peter was looking at him with concern.
“What’s going on here?” he asked. “You faint and my wife is in shock…Do you two know each other?”
Danny sat up and reached for Lily’s hand. He kept patting it, sure that this was all a dream. “Lily?” he asked. “It’s really you?”
Lily was smiling, that wonderful smile Danny remembered so well. “Yes, Danny, it’s me.”
“I thought you were dead, we buried you!” Danny exclaimed. “Mom and dad…We’ve been mourning you for eight years!”
“I’m sorry Danny, but I wasn’t myself for a long, long time,” Lily explained.
“The night he died, my husband told me he was leaving me, he was having an affair.
We ended up having an argument and he beat me very badly.
“He must have thought he’d killed me because he dumped me by the side of a deserted road. The woman in the car must have been his mistress. I was found by some kids the next day and they took me to hospital.
“I had a bad concussion and some brain damage, and it took a long time for me to remember who I was.
Then I met Peter.” Lily smiled at her husband lovingly. “And little by little, I became myself again.
“But when I went looking for you, you, mom, and dad were gone and I didn’t know where. I never imagined my baby brother would walk right into my house!” Lily put her arms around Danny and hugged him tightly.
Danny called his parents and told them that Lily was alive and happy, and they flew in the next day.
Watching his parents’ reunion with Lily, Danny felt that a long nightmare had finally come to an end.
What can we learn from this story?

Key Takeaways From My Interview Today On Arise News Morning Show
On promises to Enugu State
We can deliver plenty but please see it from the perspective of pedigree and practical achievements instead of promises.
On Power
From the private sector, we've been able to build the Aba Integrated Power Project which today is the only project generating and distributing power at the same time since 2014. It's the first of it's kind and is a model for reliable electricity in Nigeria and serving nearly 2/3rds of Abia. This success, is what we'll be bringing to Enugu because we believe electricity is the foundation of all development and growth.
Security
We'll build on the great strides of our beloved Governor, with regards to security. In spite of all the insecurity in various parts of the country, Enugu State has remained peaceful. However, infrastructural development and foreign investment is a crucial way of maintaining security, and evidence suggests that we can do this.
Investment
The first time the CEO of General Electric came to Nigeria, we brought him. We signed the agreement that established General Electric in Nigeria. We can do same in Enugu, through our network with several international investors who will engage our people in every aspect of their work here and as you know that means JOBS, JOBS, JOBS.
On Politics and Response to why a man of Integrity like Prof would be entering the Murky Waters of Politics
I call my Governor the beloved Governor because of his peace loving disposition and I believe the Governor will support someone that'll come to add value to the State.
The Governor has said he has any special successor, and that is commendable.
My entry into politics is to SERVE and contribute my quota to national development. Recall that I left the University of Massachusetts to return to serve my country. When technocrats stay on the side, they are accused of not effecting positive change from within, so why not be involved. Actually my first involvement, though brief, led to the establishment of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and it's viability and sustainability today remains a legacy I'm proud of. I think it is even worse to stay on the sidelines and criticize without making efforts to contribute towards the change you believe in.
On Zoning
Zoning is not in the constitution, so everyone can run. However, there's an agreement that there will be rotation amongst the senatorial zones, and this has been in place since the government of Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani. The Governor believes that in the spirit of fairness that this remains so.
On Sustainability of Investment
Prof cited the Abia IPP which remains sustainable and vibrant due to the installation of expertise management and operations team. This, without his presence in Aba, the company has continued to perform optimally and this is the mark of a sustainable company.
On Assurances
My candidacy does not depend on any assurances from anyone but it does depend on consultations with stakeholders.
On the Failing National Power Grid
I was sad to hear this morning that power has dropped to below 4,000 megawatts and this is very insufficient for a nation of over 200 million. I believe the solution lies in the devolution of power into regional grids. This is not against the constitution, and our work in Aba confirms that this is a sure path to reliable power. The logic is that with regional grids, States can partner with investors to ensure the delivery of optimum, reliable and sustainable electricity that will empower the industries in the States. America's power sustainability is as a result of a network of over a thousand smaller grids and this can be a model for our dear State and nation.
On Oji River Power Station
The Station has been shut because of the cessation of activities at the coal mines in Enugu. Of course, coal mining can still be used to generate power but it shouldn't be limited to Oji. We'll engage multiple means in the development of reliable power in Enugu and our track record shows we can achieve this
On STEM
We have extremely talented young people and it's out intention to harness this and one way we plan to do so is to establish an institute of research and think-tank. These can project Enugu to the fore of AI and robotics technology to assist manufacturing and creating silicone valley knowledge, jobs and competencies amongst our boys and girls.
On the MOU Agreement amongst Stakeholders concerning next Governor
I participated in the agreement because we all have to come together to ensure a cordial and peaceful primary process. I've never seen politics as do or die, and I'll abide by the tenets of harmony, peace and progress in ensuring that the right and credible candidate emerges. It is not all about me, but my intentions are genuine for the overall progress of the State. So, the MOU was signed in the best of intentions for the State and the party, but of course if some inconsistencies are introduced, though doubtful, then of course we can revisit the issue.
On Security in the South East
On the situation in Anambra, I want to commend the efforts of the Governor, Prof. Soludo and I believe he's doing more to arrest the situation. However, success here relies on the collaboration of all stakeholders. Also, this is why agreements such as the zoning agreement in Enugu should be respected because the leaders are expected to lead by example and toe the line of harmony and peace, so that our people can emulate them. I believe, we'll get it right
