UNDER THE GENERAL'S WATCH

Once we had a President who was called a weakling and clueless. The argument was that his rival and fellow Presidential election contestant was a retired General and if elected, would fight the Boko Haram terrorists, secure the Chibok Girls, fight corruption and virtually save our nation from the Abyss.

The Retired General became President and Boko Haram became bolder and fiercer, "Fulani Herdsmen" sprang up, "Bandits" surfaced, Corruption was modernised and the nation further slides into anarchy. Under his watch, mobs have overrun cities, terrorists have overran barracks, kidnapped girls in Dapchi, wrecked havoc endlessly in Benue and Southern Kaduna, hoodlums have overran election processes and vandalised ballot boxes despite his order to "shoot at sight".

Under the General's watch, kidnappers from abroad have marked Nigeria as a safe haven, safe enough to stash thier victims in Nigeria. It had to take the famous SEAL TEAM 6 of Osama Bin Laden fame to enter Nigeria to secure their citizen. The last time we heard of the exploits of the revered elite squad was in 2011 in Abbottabad, Pakistan when they went to get Osama. The Americans couldn't trust the Pakistani Army to hand Bin Laden over and interestingly they couldn't trust the Nigerian Army to save thier countryman.
