Global Health Initiative Embarks On Free Medical Outreach For Old Aguata Union

It was jubilation all the way for the people of Old Aguata Union as the Global Health Initiative in collaboration with Orumba General Hospital, Rise Clinic, Anambra Business Coalition, the Anambra Health Insurance Agency, Spine Communication and Aspire FC at the weekend, as they were offered free medical care and health awareness program, Orient Sports reports.


This is in line with the celebration of Nigeria’s 60th Independence Day Anniversary, Orient Sports understands.
The programme which is a brainchild of the President of Aspire FC and Former Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA), Dr. Chukwuemeka Okeke, saw free medical services given to althletes and footballers from 14 football clubs as well as the people of the constituency, comprising three local government areas of Aguata, Orumba South and Orumba North.

Speaking to Orient Sports, a football administrator and Team Manager of Aspire FC, Mr. Amakom Okoye stated that the programme is superb as sports and health are inseparable.
Okoye, explained that the event provided a platform for sports men in the area to undergo free medical test with a view to discovering any underlining illness, have the players treated and necessary medications prescribed by the experienced health practitioners.

He stated that the event also provided succour to club owners in the rural area who are finding it difficult to cope with current trends in the sports industry.
Also, the Brand Manager of Aspire FC, Miss Chidimma Ezeasor, lauded Dr. Emeka Okeke for his vision and mission to develop sports at the grassroot .
she opined that this program will go a long way in emphasizing the need for healthy living for sports personalities and the need to constantly exercise as an athlete.


Ezeasor pointed out that her passion for sports development and branding brought her into the industry which is male dominated.
She encouraged her female counterparts to do the needful as sports is a big industry which is dynamic, a career path and can bring about a socioeconomic development of the society.


Orient Sports reports that communities in the area and the 14 football clubs were presented with footballs while side attrations like ball joggling displays, branding of the football clubs, decoration of outstanding football administrators and coaches in the area.
However, the event was rapped up with raffle draws and presentation of prizes to the winners of the quiz competition.
