Over the years, agriculture has metamorphosed from a crude industry to a heavily mechanized industry. The sector has continued to experience innovations across various processes. As the demand for food continues to grow, farmers around the world are beginning to adopt digital technologies and smart farming methods for increased yields.

Digital agricultural solutions provide the sector with a wide range of innovations that allows farmers to operate more efficiently and sustainably. In most parts of the developed world, farmers are beginning to employ technologies like unmanned Ariel vehicles (UAVs), robotic machinery and artificial intelligence.

As Nigeria continues to make efforts in transforming the agricultural sector in line with the demands of the digital age, one major source of concern to stakeholders is the capacity of local farmers, majority of whom are illiterates, to adopt some of these modern technologies.
