THE CROSS; OUR SALVATION

BIBLE READING: EPHESIANS 2:4-9

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18

When Jesus died on the cross, His death purchased for us, a lot of things. It restored to man, all the things that man lost at the fall of Adam in the garden of Eden. The fall of man brought man into the bondage of the devil. He became a victim of the devil and suffered spiritual attacks, physical attacks, emotional attacks, mental attacks, etc. The worst of all was that man’s fall brought man into bondage from sin. Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1

The death of Jesus Christ on the cross, purchased for man, deliverance and freedom from the devil, from his power, and most especially, deliverance from sin. For the first time since the fall, man could hold his head high and not be bowed down by the bondage of sin. For the first time since Eden, man could approach God as a Father again and commune with Him the way it was meant to be. For the first time, death held no terror for man and simply became a means of transition from earth to glory. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Hebrews 2:14-15

The death of Christ on the cross opened up a whole new world of freedom, and victory to us.

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, thank you for the cross, thank You for the price You paid that brought us out of darkness and into Your light. Help me to understand Your cross and to also begin to see, all that You died to purchase for me, in Jesus name. Amen.
