Asari Dokubo: Peter Obi Support Network (POSN) cautions Nigerians against paying attention to false heroic figures and persons of questionable characters
His Excellency Dr. Peter Obi of our Labour Party has on good occasions made it clear that he does not have need to respond to comments about him made by spokespersons, whether selfish-styled or appointed. It then does not mean that we at POSN, a worldwide conglomerate of supporters of not just his political ambitions but of his entire personality and principles, would sit-by to watch any slightest acts of calumny or degradation meted at our principal for whatsoever ulterior reason.
The recent comments credited to Mr Asari Dokubo of the Ijaw Youth Council and founder of a Niger Delta Volunteer Force, casting aspersions and peddling falsehood on our principal and his Obi-dients has become on ranting too many.
In a video supposedly making the rounds since Monday the 3rd of October 2022, Asari was quoted saying that Mr Obi deals in "everything forbidden by God", making reference to Mr Obi's family brewery business. Even though we do not wish to join issues of such petty bearing with Mr Dokubo, ours is to guide our innocent population, most of whom Asari and his allies have deliberately left ignorant, uneducated and impoverished for use during elections by feeding them false, cheap religious and ethnic narratives.
The clear point is this: that Islam forbids the use or dealings with alcohol related edibles does not mean that same applies in other religions. There are equally beliefs regarded to be taboo in other religions but embraced by Islam. For instance, that Mr Peter Obi has lived faithfully and peacefully with his only wife as required of his Christian religion for over 30yrs now, should not give any Christian the rights to cast undue aspersions on Asari Dokubo, his principal or any of his cronies who may decided to marry upto 4wives and sometimes with concubines, knowing well that their religion condones that view.
We therefore want to used this medium to also warn Mr Asari Dokubo to stop making political comments and making himself someone to be reckoned with, because he is not!
First of all, like his principal, Mr Dokubo's personality is also in doubt. He used to go by the name MELFORD ASARI GOOD-HEART and in January 2013, had publicly renounced his Nigerian citizenship and adopted Benin Republic as his county home. This is owing to the fact that the FGN refused to grant his "Ijaw Republic".
At what points this notorious militant leader and supporter of the APC candidate declared a change of name and regained his Nigerian citizenship is yet unknown. What is known to us is that Mr Dokubo who would rather than invest in Nigeria like Mr Peter Obi is doing, has his '5-Star' schools and other businesses flourishing in the Benin Republic, while with the huge amount of Nigeria's tax-payers money which the APC government has decided to be paying him and other militia leaders in the false claims of protecting oil facilities in the south, has further strengthened his illegal militia group, which many countrymen have suspected is now being used to ferment trouble, posing some threats to the landslide victory expected of Obi in the SE and SS by their plans to disrupt the elections there.
POSN therefore urges in all sense of regard, respect and fairness for supporters of both Mr Obi and Alhaji Tinunbu, that cut-across adherents of both the Christian, Islamic and Traditional religions, to once again guide themselves against any lures to take seriously, anyone whose main 'stock-in-trade' is to try to use unfounded ethno-religious sentiments to campaign in the forthcoming elections; most especially, when they are known to be persons of low virtues and obscure personalities.
Like our principal H. E. Dr Peter Gregory Obi, we reiterate that the 2023 general elections will only thrive based on the electorates convinction about every candidates level of competence, capacity, credibility and a genuine commitment to lead Nigeria out of quagmire and into a TRULY WORKING NATION.
