The All Progressives Congress has won in all the 18 local governments areas of Ondo State in Saturday’s local government elections.
Ten political parties participated in the chairmanship and councillorship elections.
The Chairman of the state Independent Electoral Commission, Prof. Yomi Dinakin, said on Sunday while announcing theesults of the chairmanship election at the commission’s headquarters in Akure that the election was conducted in line with the electoral law of the state.
In the results presented by the ODIEC returning officers in the local governments, the ruling APC won in 18 local governments, including Akoko North-East, Akoko South-East, Ose, Owo, Akure South, Akure North and Ifedore.
Others are Odigbo, Ile Oluji/Oke Igbo, Ilaje, Okitipupa, Irele, Ese Odo, Ondo West, Idanre, Ondo East, Akoko North-West and Akoko South-West local government areas.
Dinakin explained that only the APC fielded candidates for the chairmanship seats in the five council areas.
