The Sustainable Real Estate Conference (SREC) by Majescity Real Estate & Investments brought together industry leaders, investors, and real estate enthusiasts to discuss the future of sustainable real estate. Held at the Stanel Dome, Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Awka, Anambra, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, this landmark event emphasized the intersection of real estate with economic growth, environmental responsibility, and societal advancement.

Opening Highlights & Keynote Address

The conference kicked off with a red carpet session hosted by Miriam Tochi Godspower, followed by warm welcomes from Stephen Norbert and Regina. Renowned wordsmith Okwuchukwu Okonkwo set the tone with an insightful opening remark, after which Zuby with Media showcased a compelling 1-year anniversary milestone video of Majescity.

The keynote speaker, Kelechi Deca, a multilingual development journalist, delivered a thought-provoking address on “Building for Tomorrow: The Role of Real Estate in Sustainable Human Development.” His discussion highlighted the South-East region’s potential, noting that though the area spans about 78,000 square kilometers—five times the size of New York City—it remains underpopulated compared to the American metropolis.

Panels & Discussions: A Deep Dive into the Future

Panel One: The Convergence of Real Estate and Other Industries

Moderated by Nzubechi Chinedum, this session featured distinguished speakers including Hon. Patrick Uburu, Mercy Okeke, and Dr. Nnaemeka Obiaarei. The conversation centered around how real estate developments can create a synergistic relationship with other industries, from agriculture to technology.

Official Launch of Agro-Real Estate Projects

One of the most anticipated moments was the launch of Agro-Real Estate projects by Majescity. The unveiling of the banner design and a one-minute video showcasing signed partnerships marked the beginning of an era where agriculture and real estate can coexist to drive economic growth. Ebere from Phronesis Foods further provided a powerful testimonial on the impact of this innovative real estate model.

Industry Trends & Market Opportunities

Panel Two: Real Estate Industry, Land Banking, Marketing, and Trends

This discussion, moderated by Abigail Oluduntan, featured industry experts Jeff Anozie, Esq. Arnold Ekweoba, and Barr. Raymond Ijeomah. The session emphasized the importance of land banking, strategic marketing, and adapting to evolving market dynamics.

Recognizing Excellence: Awards & Scholarships

As part of its commitment to industry growth, Majescity Real Estate announced scholarships for five outstanding students, with Mr. Kelechi Deca leading the presentation. Additionally, the conference honored the Top 7 Realtors, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the real estate sector.

The event concluded with the Top 3 Realtors Awards and a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Okwuchukwu Okonkwo, representing Majescity’s leadership.

Key Takeaways: The Future of Sustainable Real Estate

  • Urban Development Lessons: London’s first central sewage system (1861) and underground station (1891) showcased how infrastructure innovation drives long-term urban growth.

  • Global Real Estate Trends: Japan has outbuilt its population, leaving thousands of uninhabited houses, a cautionary tale for markets expanding too aggressively without demand alignment.

  • Enugu’s Strategic Advantage: Governor Peter Mbah’s vision to transform the Akanu Ibiam International Airport into a cargo hub further underscores Enugu’s ambition to become an agro-export powerhouse.

Final Thought: Are We Ready for the Future?

With such groundbreaking discussions, innovative real estate models, and strategic government support, the South-East region is at the brink of an economic and infrastructural transformation. The question remains: Will real estate stakeholders seize these opportunities to build a truly sustainable future?
