Rangers’ Aguda, Heartland’s Obioma On Abia Warriors Radar

Enugu Rangers talismanic forward, Godwin Aguda and Heartland’s Chijioke Obioma have emerged as big transfer targets of Abia Warriors as the 2020/2021 NPFL transfer period blossoms, Orient Sports can exclusively report.

Aguda has been a regular face in Rangers match day squad since joining the Flying Antelopes four seasons ago.

Orient Sports checks reveal Aguda has held talks with the hierarchy of the ambitious Umuahia side now with former U23 National Team manager, Imama Amapakabo as technical adviser.

“Aguda has agreed personal terms with Abia Warriors. All that is remaining is for him to sign his contract papers and that could happen any moment from now.

“Possibly, he could sign on Wednesday and if that happens, he would be unveiled same day”, a close confidant of the player told Orient Sports.

Similarly, Heartland’s striker, Chijioke Obioma has joined the list of high profile players on the shopping list of Abia Warriors ahead of the 2020/2021 domestic season.

Obioma caught the eyes of NPFL followers when he scored a brace as Heartland crushed Enyimba 2-0 in a league match during the 2019/2020 season.

Orient Sports understands that like Aguda, Obioma has agreed personal terms with Abia Warriors.

“Yes, Obioma has concluded talks with Abia Warriors. He has agreed personal terms with them as regards salary and other entitlements.

“No, I don’t know the contractual duration for now but he’s expected to sign on Wednesday.

“And if that happens, he would be unveiled immediately”, Orient Sports was told by one of his Rangers teammates.

The duo will join the likes of top performers, goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo, Nzube Anaezemba, Vincent Edafe, Markson Ojobo and former Mighty Jets strike sensation, Mustapha Jibrin as new arrivals at Abia Warriors.

The club have also promoted two undisclosed youth team players to the senior team as new manager, Imama Amapakabo continues to attract quality players to refresh the squad ahead the 2020/2021 NPFL season.
