Alakwe Rules Out Pillars Summer Exit
Former FC ifeanyi Ubah captain, Chijioke Alakwe has exclusively told Orient Sports he’s not interested in leaving Kano Pillars for now.
Alakwe penned a two year contract with the four time League Champions, Kano Pillars, last season.
Amidst mounting pressure from several NPFL clubs, the fair skinned midfielder insists he wants to see off his contract at the Sai Masu Gida side.
“I always want want to respect every contract I signed”, starts Alakwe. “I signed a two year contract here (at Kano Pillars) when I came.
“And I want to honour it to the end before anything else.
“I don’t like running from club to club at the slightest opportunity. I’m aware of interests from other clubs on me for a move. But it’s not in my character to cut short my contract with a club.
“But if such offers are coming from overseas, then, it will go through the right and proper channel, in which case my club, in this case, Kano Pillars, would sanction it.
“For now, I’m a player of Kano Pillars until my contract with them runs it’s full course”.
Kano Pillars will fly Nigeria’s flag in next year’s CAF second tier inter club competition, Confederation Cup, following their 2019 Aiteo Cup triumph.
