Nigeria is dealing with an unemployment rate of over 33%, one of the highest in the whole world.
South Africa is the highest in the world, with an updated unemployment figures of about 44.4%.
If this doesn't scare you, it should.
Let me put this in comparative context.
Canada is about 7.5%.
United States is about 5.4%.
China is about 5.5%
While Nigeria is about 33%.
This is the reason I honour any entrepreneur working hard to build a business that creates jobs.
The task before us is enormous and data like this can really be demotivating to many of us.
But it is equally a call to action, one that should inspire us to remain steadfast in our execution.
If you can create jobs for 5, 10, 20 or even 100 people, bring it to the table. We need everything
Yes, I know what you think about Government. And certainly, the odds are stacked against us.
But this is our reality today.
I also tip my hat to valuable employees joining forces with entrepreneurs to fight this monster.
It is the value you bring to work that builds a business and empowers it to create more jobs.
So you are also needed in this fight.
